Animal Crossing: New Horizons Free Updates Announced
Nintendo has announced that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will receive free updates which will bring seasonal events and guests. The first update introducing a special Bunny Day event in April will be available on March 20.
Nintendo has announced NookLink, coming to the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app in March where you can scan in Custom Design QR codes from Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer into Animal Crossing: New Horizons. When connected online, it’s also possible to talk with friends who also have New Horizons with the Nintendo Switch Online app, using the smartphone as a keyboard or for voice chat.

You can choose between four islands and northern or southern hemisphere. Each season has different activities. Choose spots for your tent and for other residents. Custom designs are back.

Facilities include the museum, Nook’s Cranny, the Able Sisters’ tailor shop, and a campsite. The game will see free updates with seasonal events and characters. You can pave pathways and construct rivers and cliffs with the Island Designer Construction Permit.
Both amiibo and amiibo card compatibility are confirmed. Photopia feature where you can place models in photo shoots. Limited crossover with Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp announced with special items for each game. No save data but data recovery post launch if Switch is lost, stolen, or damaged.
