Animal Crossing amiibo Cards Restocked

Nintendo will be restocking the Animal Crossing amiibo Cards at the My Nintendo Store with delivery expected by March 20, the same date that Animal Crossing: New Horizons releases. It was recently confirmed that the series’ amiibo and amiibo cards will be compatible with New Horizons. The first four sets will be restocked along with the “Welcome amiibo” cards. The Sanrio collaboration cards will not be sold however. Each pack is priced at ¥330 each with a limit to 10 packs per customer.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons at GDC 2020

Design track will host an hour-long session on “Creating a New Horizon: Bringing Animal Crossing to Nintendo Switch” at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2020 from Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20 in San Francisco, CA. The session will be presented by producer Hisashi Nogami and director Aya Kyogoku. You can register now at this link.

Friday Update:HAL Laboratory Celebrates 40th Anniversary, New Kirby Game, More!

● Kirby developers HAL Laboratory celebrates its 40th anniversary with a special website and video. The company currently has 173 employees and were recruiting for a new Kirby series project last September and promise in a recent Nintendo Dream interview that this year will be a memorable one.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Will Have 383 Villagers

Tom Nook has confirmed that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will have 383 Nook’s Homes customers in the game. The original Nintendo 64 Doubutsu no Mori game saw 216 villagers, this increased to 236 with the GameCube port, Wild World saw the figure drop to just 150 villagers, with 210 in City Folk. The number rose to 333 with New Leaf, and 399 with New Leaf’s Welcome amiibo update. It’s expected that New Horizons will see the number increase in future updates similar to Pocket Camp (which currently stands at 183).

Nintendo Apply For Storage Box Patent

Nintendo Co., Ltd. has applied for a new Storage Box patent (特開2020-026287) with the Japan Patent Office. The patent aims to improve the appearance of a storage box after it has been folded. Images used in the 15 page application added below which highlight the folding process. Please note that while the storage box in the application is made of cardboard, the patent specifies that the material is not limited to corrugated cardboard. [Thanks, J-PlatPat]

Developers Score Studios and publishers Rainy Frog have revealed a secret game called Piczle Cross found inside the Piczle Colors game. Hot to find it video added below. Piczle Colors is currently 50% off on the Nintendo Switch eShop, priced at ¥600, until March 5. The regular price is ¥1,200.

Pokémon HOME Downloaded 1.3m Times

Sensor Tower report that Pokémon HOME was downloaded 1.3 million times on iOS and Android in its first week generating an estimated $1.8 million in user spending so far. These numbers do not include the Nintendo Switch version.
