Space Invaders Invincible Collection Adds Space Invaders 90
Amazon Prime Day 2019 on 15-16 July will see Space Invaders 90 (known as Space Invaders 91 in the west) added to the Space Invaders Invincible Collection for a limited time. The game originally appeared on the Mega Drive, and will make it the seventh included title after the previously announced Space Invaders, Space Invaders Part 2, MJ-12, Space Invaders DX, Space Invaders Extreme, and Space Cyclone. Sega Mega Drive Mini Dated
Sega have announced that the Mega Drive Mini will release worldwide on 19 September priced at ¥7,538 (approx $68) with one controller or ¥9,698 (approx $87.5) with two. 40 games will be pre-installed including Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Puyo Puyo Tsu, Shining Force, Vampire Killer, Wrestleball, Gunstar Heroes, Comix Zone, Rent A Hero, Space Harrier II, and Madou Monogatari I. Famicom Rhythm Game Announced
Columbus Circle have announced 8BIT Rhythm Land for releases on the Famicom in February 2019 priced at ¥5,378, and which will be the first rhythm game on the system! Four mini-games are included (Running Girl, Music Baseball, Hades Rhythm and Cosmolien) and 20 chiptune tracks have been recorded. In addition, early purchases will come with a free Soundtrack CD and a Mega Drive version called 16BIT Rhythm Land will also be released! Promo video added below…

Weekend News Update With Sega Announce Mega Drive Mini And SEGA AGES Series For Switch!

● The biggest news involved a series of Sega announcements. The first for a Mega Drive Mini which will release in 2018, the second the SEGA AGES series for Nintendo Switch with 15+ games planned with Sonic the Hedgehog, Phantasy Star and Thunder Force IV the first three.
● The third announcement Shenmue I & II is for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam, but not Nintendo Switch, with the fourth announcement, a new Sakura Taisen (Sakura Wars) title that is yet without a platform.
● The build-up for the next Splatfest has begun with players able to choose between ‘Unknown creatures and Advanced technology’, with the belltime at 15:00 JST next Saturday.
● Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp opened up voting for the Fortune Cookie Shop with Marshall’s pastry cookie totally dominating Rosie’s pop-star cookie and Filbert’s rocket cookie later this week. Maintenance will be on 17 April which should see the new update. A new event has been teased too with three new animals expected to arrive next week.
● Fire Emblem Heroes saw an update to Special Maps: Rival Domains where players can earn a bonus for defeating foes with armoured allies.
● Miitomo saw the Chiffon Blouse, Flared Skirt & Waist-Tied Shirt, Mid-Length Lace-Trimmed Socks and the Waist-Tied Outfit all added to the shop and all pictured here.
● Digital Trends broke the news that Nintendo Co., Ltd. have filed a patent applicant in the United States for separate screens that are capable of communicating with each other.
● Nintendo are holding a 50% off sticker sale on the LINE store with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario’s Relaxing Life and Animal Crossing all half-price.

Sega have announced a Mega Drive Mini for release in 2018. Multiple titles will be included but no indication how many at present. This is an official product. More news as we have it.

Five New Retro Videogame Consoles
Columbus Circle have announced five new retro videogame consoles for Japan with a black version of the Retro Combo which plays both Famicom and Super Famicom games, a black version of the 16bit Compact which just plays Super Famicom games , a white version of the 8bit Compact which plays Famicom games, a silver version of the handheld 8bit Pocket which plays Famicom games and features a 2.8″ LCD screen, and a white version of the 16bit Compact MD which plays Mega Drive games. The first two are out now with the others scheduled for 30 April 2018. Pictures of all consoles added below…
