Nintendo Switch Sells 830k During Thanksgiving Week

Nintendo have announced that the Nintendo Switch family of systems sold more than 830,000 units in the United States over Thanksgiving week. Total Switch numbers in the Americas are 17.5 million units. Pokémon Sword / Shield games have already sold more than 3 million in the Americas. Other notable numbers include Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at 8.5 million, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at 8 million, Super Mario Odyssey, at 6.5 million, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe at 1.5 million. Billion Road Being localised

Nintendo have announced that the North American release window for Samurai Shodown is now Q1 2020. The Japanese Samurai Spirits is still listed as 12 December 2019 release on the official website. Eternal Darkness Trademark

Nintendo of America Inc. have filed the fifth request for an extension of time to file a Statement of Use for its trademark (87274495) of ETERNAL DARKNESS for purposes including “video game software”. Dragon Quest Trilogy Coming West

Square-Enix have announced that the Dragon Quest trilogy consisting of Dragon Quest, Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line, and Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation will come to the Nintendo eShop in the west on 27 September priced at $4.99, $6.49, and $12.49 respectively.

Overwatch Coming to Switch

Kotaku have independently verified that Blizzard Entertainment’s first-person shooter Overwatch is coming to Nintendo Switch on 18 October in Europe and likely 15 October in Europe. Japan is unknown. Overwatch will be confirmed for Switch in today’s Nintendo Direct.

Edit: Japanese release confirmed for 16 October as Overwatch Legendary Edition, priced at ¥5,378, requiring 13.0 GB, with English language support confirmed. Japanese trailer and launch trailer added below…
