INDIE Live Expo 2020 Games
All the Japanese Switch announcements made at the INDIE Live Expo 2020 today with multiple games announced. Full details added below…
COGEN Otori Kohaku to Koku no Ken
Gemdrops announced COGEN: Sword of Rewind (COGEN Otori Kohaku to Koku no Ken) for 2020 release on Nintendo Switch. COGEN is a 2D action platformer featuring a hero armed with a sword and features the “ouroboros system” that activates the instant you die. Project Starship X
Panda Indie Studio announced the rogue-lite shoot ’em up Project Starship X for Nintendo Switch. Project Starship X features colourful characters and surreal situations! A hilarious take on “cosmic horror”! Check out the trailer here.
Giant Door announced the cute physics-based puzzle-platformer Derpy Conga for Nintendo Switch. Derpy Conga sees you gather your friends in a conga line and help them escape from an endangered alien world, but beware: the longer the chain, the harder to control! On the other hand (ahah!), journeys are better with friends on your side. Check out the trailer here.
Voolgi announced the painting simulation game SuchArt! also for Switch. SuchArt! sees you turn the world around you into a huge canvas and do whatever you please with it — add some red to that gloomy wall, spill paint on the floor and call it abstract expressionism, or just write your name everywhere: this space is yours after all! Masatoko Games will also be releasing their zombie first person shooter Infected Maze (Kansen Maze) on Nintendo Switch. Infected Maze sees the player head down a randomly generated, maze-like hospital to help his sister, who is in the basement asking for help. The inside of the hospital is filled with zombies. Kill or be killed. Check out the video here.
Degoma announced the comedy action platformer Reggie, his cousin, two scientists and most likely the end of the world for Switch. You play Reggie, a little round guy from the far future which must travel back and forth in time in order to save science, and ultimately the entire Universe. Check out the video here.
Glasses Cat Games and indienova announced the 2D top-down action game Devil Slayer – Raksasi (Zankai Raksasi) will also be coming to Nintendo Switch. Devil Slayer – Raksasi features procedurally generated dungeons, profound roguelike elements, and intuitive soul-like fighting. It’s a fair and challenging game, dodging, timing, striking, you need to master them all to fight your way out of this cursed world. Check out the trailer here.
Hakoniwa Explorer Plus
PLAYISM’S third and final new announcement was the voxel art action-RPG Hakoniwa Explorer Plus which again releases for Switch on June 18 with preloads live from June 7 priced at ¥1,200. Hakoniwa Explorer Plus features a whole range of cute girl monsters who are waiting to punch, kick, wrap you up, suck your blood, and eat you right up. Check out the Switch version trailer here.
Katamichi Yuusha Plus
PLAYISM’s second announcement was the horizontally scrolling RPG One Way Heroics Plus (Katamichi Yuusha Plus) which releases for Switch on June 18 with preloads live from June 7 priced at ¥1,500. The PC original has sold 500,000 copies. One Way Heroics Plus sees players take on the role of an intrepid adventurer who must travel across the land and face the Demon Lord before a mysterious darkness engulfs everything. Blingame announced the 2D Metroidvania game HAAK for multiple platforms including Switch. HAAK is a retro, apocalyptic theme’s Metroidvania Game. Retro Art- Style, fluid movement and unique weapon settings provide the foundation for a fast and pleasant experience. A big variety of puzzles designed support players seeking the truth during the process of exploration. Check out the video here.
2P Games announced the life simulation game Immortal Life (Senkyou Monogatari) for multiple systems including Nintendo Switch. Developed by YiFang Studio, Immortal Life shares elements of the likes of Story of Seasons, with 24 hour clocks, four seasons, and a number of NPCs with their own itineraries.
Sumire no Sora
GameTomo announced the indie adventure game Sumire (Sumire no Sora) which is set in a mystical Japanese mountain village. Sumire is set in a mystical Japanese mountain village. Take the girl Sumire on a quest-filled journey through a strange world of odd characters, talking creatures, and magical settings — but it will only last a day. Check out the video here.
PLAYISM’s first announcement was the casual life simulation game Chinese Parents which has 2.8 million players in China. The game sees you step into the shoes of an average kid from birth towards the end of your high school. Study hard, have fun, make friends and face your ultimate challenge, the “Gaokao”. Children of Morta ～Kazoku no Kizuna no Monogatari～
DMM Games announced they will be localising the rogue-lite dungeon crawler Children of Morta for Japan as Children of Morta ～Kazoku no Kizuna no Monogatari～. Children of Morta sees you lead the Bergsons, with all their flaws and virtues, against the forthcoming Corruption. Will you be able to sacrifice everything to save the ones you care for?
