A Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition demo is now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop with data transferrable over to the full game. Players will also be able to unlock a Yocchi (Tockles) spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at a later date.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will see an ‘Original Class of ’64’ tournament begin for three days from 23 August with rules, fighters, items, and stages from Super Smash Bros. 64. Check them out at this post.

Nintendo Switch Online updated to Version 3.1.0 adding Super Chinese from Culture Brain Excel, Downtown Nekketsu Koushinkyoku Soreyuke Daiundoukai from Arc System Works, and Gradius SP from Konami. Check out screenshots here and trailer here.

● Prototype announced the visual novel Flowers Shiki (Flowers: Les Quatre Saisons) for release on Nintendo Switch on 28 November priced at ¥7,878. The game includes Automne, Été, Hiver, and, Printemps. Promo video posted here.

● Entergram announced another visual novel, D.C.4 ~Da Capo4~, for release on Nintendo Switch on 19 December priced at ¥9,024.

● Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that the horror adventure Little Nightmares II will also release in Japan in 2020. Japanese trailer posted here.

● Bandai Namco also announced a third free update for Super Dragon Ball Heroes World Mission around mid-September adding 15 new cards, five new quests, new accessories, and more.

● Koei Tecmo Games announced that Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout has gone gold and will release on 26 September in Japan.

● Flyhigh Works updated VOEZ to Version 1.7.0 adding 14 new songs and DEEMO to Version 1.6.0 adding 13 new songs. Update trailers posted here.

● The Trials Rising Crash & Sunburn DLC will arrive in Japan on 10 September. Trailer posted here.

● Thousand Games announced an announcement for Synaptic Drive will be on 28 August.

● Compile Heart announced the dungeon crawler Genkai Tokki Moero Crystal H on the Japanese Switch eShop on 05 September with preloads priced at ¥2,800 (the regular price is ¥4,000).

● Arc System Works announced the mecha action game Damascus Gear Saikyo EXODUS (Damascus Gear: Operation Osaka) for release on the Japanese Switch eShop next week (29 August) priced at ¥2,000. Promo video posted here.

● The only Hamster game this week is the 1983 Taito game Arcade Archives Water Ski priced at the usual ¥823. Screenshots posted here.

● City Connection will be publishing the shoot ’em up STRIKERS1999 for Nintendo Switch on the eShop next week (29 August) priced at ¥1,200. Screenshots posted here.

● Merge Games will be bringing the puzzle adventure game Solo: Islands of the Heart to the Japanese Switch eShop next week (29 August) priced at ¥1,980. Japanese trailer posted here.

● In the latest Monster Farm (Monster Rancher) details: it’ll cost ¥1,900 and it supports two-player with a single Joy-Con, it requires connection to an online CD database to select ’90’s and recent songs.

● The Japanese Switch version of VASARA Collection has gone gold. The game is scheduled to release on the eShop on 14 November.

● The next SEGA AGES game will likely be Puzzle & Action: Ichidant-R which will include Arcade and Mega Drive Modes, online play, four-player, and RPG-like quests. Screenshots posted here.

● G-mode will be publishing the mini-game collection Minna de Kuuki Yomi 2 ~Reiwa~ on the Japanese Switch eShop in September.

● This week’s new games to preload (not listed above) include The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition (¥6,998 and 25.9 GB), Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition (¥8,618 and 13.5 GB), FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered (¥2,500 and 2.6 GB), Cardfight!! Dr. Mario World added Stage 221 – Stage 240 to World 6 with a Staff Ticket as the Area Clear Reward.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw Bound Hero Battle Revival: Elincia & Nephenee and Daily Summoning Event: Heroes with Ward Skills (featuring Sigurd, Lyn, and Ike). Super Mario Maker 2 was the best-selling game over Obon with 46,424 units sold and is now at over half a million. Nintendo Switch hardware is at 92,677 for the fortnight. Check out the full top 10 here.
