Wednesday Update:New Pokémon Mobile Game, Switch Overtakes PS4 In Japan, Star Soldier SP Releases, Plus More News!

● The Pokémon Company resurrected PokéLand as Pokémon Scramble SP which will release in Japan ‘soon’. The game is already available in Australia as Pokémon Rumble Rush. Check out some of the game’s artwork at this post.

Nintendo Switch has now outsold lifetime sales of PlayStation 4 in Japan selling 8,125,637 units in 26 months compared to 8,077,756 in just over 62. Check out the top 10 software for the last two weeks at this post.

Family Computer Nintendo Switch Online updated to Ver. 2.5.0 adding an SP version of Star Soldier entitled Star Soldier Stage 8 Hisshou Version, along with Clu Clu Land, Donkey Kong JR., and VS. Excitebike. Check out screenshots for all four titles here.

● A Suits Up! Spirit Board event was announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate featuring Legend-class spirits Dr. Wily and Jeff, Ace-class spirits Party Phil and Kazuhira Miller, and many more detailed at this post.

● Spike Chunsoft postponed AI:The Somnium Files in Japan until 19 September and 17 September in North America in order to improve the quality. Check out the title screen here.

● Square-Enix announced a livestream for the third DLC ‘Modern Architecture Pack’ in Dragon Quest Builders 2: Hakaishin Shidoo to Karappo no Shima on May at 21:00 JST on YouTube

● GeGeGe no Kitarō will be making a cameo appearance in Yokai Watch 4: Bokura wa Onajikara o Miage Tale as revealed in this week’s issue of Weekly Famitsu.

● Blizzard announced that Diablo III Season 17 will begin on 18 May in Japan.

● Oizumi Amuzio have updated the PS4 version of Tennis World Tour adding Rafael Nadal and Kristina Mladenovic. The Switch version will be updated shortly.

● Epic Games updated Fortnite to v9.01 adding the Tactical Assault Rifle weapon, plus new Ruined Tilted Themes in Creative.

● Konami announced that the Japanese Versions will be coming to the Castlevania Anniversary Collection post launch and presumably vice-versa (the collection will be up on the Japanese Switch eShop shortly).

● Hamster’s only game this week is the excellent battle action game Arcade Archives Buta san which originally released in 1987 and saw a 3DS sequel several years back. Check out the trailer here.

● Eastasiasoft announced the Japanese localisation of the side-scrolling action adventure game V.O.I.D. for next week (23 May) available for the preload price of ¥400 (regular price is ¥500). Japanese trailer posted here.

● Two new demos this week on the Japanese Switch eShop, and both from Rainy Frog, with the puzzle game Square Pict Block-a-Pix DELUXE and the roguelike platform game Xenon Valkyrie+.

● Mediascape will localise the 90’s-looking horror game Back in 1995 on the Japanese Switch eShop next week (23 May), with the game now available for preload priced at ¥980. Japanese trailer posted here.

● Chorus Worldwide announced the localisation of the tabletop RPG The Warlock of Firetop Mountain: Goblin Scourge Edition! for the Japanese Switch eShop will release on 30 May as Hifukiyama no Mahoutsukai and is newly available to preload priced at ¥2,384 (regular price is ¥2,980). ● The only impromptu release this week was the Starsign localisation of Pirates Pinball priced at ¥300. Check out the full list of games released, along with prices and descriptions, at this post.

● Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Doraemon Nobita no Bokujou Monogatari (Doraemon Story of Seasons) is now available to preload on the Japanese Switch eShop, priced at ¥6,588, requiring 834 MB, and supporting Japanese only.

● Kogado Studio’s Yumeutsutsu Re:Master is also available to preload on the Japanese Switch eShop, priced at ¥7,344, requiring 5.0 GB, and supporting Japanese only.

● The final game available for preload is D-O Corporation’s Hopping Girl Kohane Jumping Kingdom -Kuro Usagi no Hime-, priced at ¥1,296, requiring 434 MB, and again supporting Japanese only.

Dragalia Lost will see more maintenance for two hours on 20 May (19th PT) where you will not be able to obtain rewards if you complete a quest during the maintenance period.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw pre-registration open for Grand Conquests between Xander, Ryoma, and Corrin for 17 May. Today saw Quests featuring Eir: Merciful Death.
