Nintendo eShop Prices Increasing in Japan

Nintendo are warning its customers that many Nintendo eShop games will increase in price in Japan from 01 October 2019 at 00:00 due to the country’s consumption tax increase from 8% to 10%. If you commit to purchase before 23:59:59 JST on 30 September, then you will pay the game’s original price. This will affect Nintendo Switch, 3DS, and Wii U software, with packaged versions likely adjusting their price accordingly. Not all games will increase in price and Nintendo warn buyers that many eShop videos may not reflect the actual price as of 01 October. Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions will also increase (see this post for more).
