● Weekly Shonen Jump will feature some ‘surprising’ Dragon Quest news in the 10 June issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. It’s unknown whether this will be related to the new Dragon Quest X game for Switch, 3DS, and Wii U, a release date for Dragon Quest XI S, a new Dragon Quest Monsters game, or something entirely different.

● Bandai Namco Entertainment finally gave a release date for their second SAO game on Switch with Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet COMPLETE EDITION (which drops the “for Nintendo Switch” part of the name) on 08 August in Japan priced at ¥7,344 and 09 August in the west. ● Intragames announced the comedy action RPG Majikken 64 (Super Cane Magic ZERO) for release in Japan on 29 August priced at ¥3,456 including a physical release, with the (awesome) Japanese box art pictured here.

● Oizumi Amuzio announced the high speed ball game Lethal League Blaze for release in Japan both digitally in July for ¥2,000, and physically in September for ¥3,780. Check out the trailer here.

● Sega Games announced a Shining Resonance Refrain New Price Edition for release in Japan on 08 August 2019 priced at ¥3,229. Box art posted here.

● From today, Nintendo are reselling the Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!/Eevee! Nintendo Switch bundles from today in Japan where they are priced at ¥41,018 each. Check out images here.

● This weekend’s in-game tournaments include Ninjara vs Mechanica in the second semi-final of the ARMS Party Crash Bash tournament and the Spirit Shield Slowdown spirit event in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

● Success opened up a website for the upcoming Cotton Reboot which was recently announced for Switch.

● Nippon Ichi Software will be updated Satsujin Tantei Jack the Ripper shortly fixing an issue with loading saved data from Version 1.0.1.

● And Level-5 updated the Yokai Watch 4: Bokura wa Onajikara o Miage Tale website with GeGeGe no Kitarō information.

● The latest contender to the battle royale crown Realm Royale Founder’s Pack is now available on the Switch eShop priced at ¥1,668 and which allows you to experience the Realm Royale Closed Beta. The free to play version of Realm Royale will release later this year. Check out the launch trailer here.

● Wingplay’s four-player party action game Keotoshi!Treasure Hunter! will release on the Japanese Switch eShop on 06 June priced at ¥1,500 with UNTIES (Sony) as the publisher. Check out the promo video here.

● 06 June will also see the visual novel game Dear Magi -Mahou Shonen Gakka- (Dear My Magical Boys) release on the Japanese Switch eShop priced at ¥3,980 with Careux publishing. Check out the opening movie here.

● Hanaji Games announced the 2D skateboard action game 2nd iLL for Nintendo Switch. Little else is known at this stage, but a teaser trailer has been posted here.

● Konami/Hamster updated the Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection to Version 1.0.2 and added Tate Mode to A-JAX, Scramble, and TwinBee, making the purchase all but essential for old-school gamers.

● Motion Twin apologised for charging Japanese players for the Dead Cells – Rise of the Giant DLC: “Small note, for reasons, mostly human error the DLC is NOT free on Switch in Japan. It’s only 100¥ however we know that’s not the same as free. Humble apologies for our Japanese players. We’ll find a way to make it up to you.” This however contradicts an Automaton report that states the price is due to certain restrictions on the Japanese Switch eShop making the charge necessary.

● El Dia updated EVE Burst error R to Version 1.0.3 fixing a sound related issue.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw Fishing Tourney #14: Monochromatic Cat begin today with the full list of fish, rewards, and much more detailed and pictured at this post.

Dragalia Lost was updated to Version 1.8.0 adding the ability to play co-op with nearby players without entering an ID, and so much more detailed at this post. The game also saw an epilogue added to the raid event revival Resplendent Refrain. There was also an issue with the Fire Emblem: Lost Heroes event in which sometimes the Shadow Knight’s defeat was not counted. 300 wyrmite will be sent to players who cleared either the Alberian Front: Hard or the Alberian Front: Lunatic as a make-do.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw Special Heroes Revival: Bridal Blessings featuring Cadea: Talys’s Bride, Lyn: Bride of the Plains, Cordelia: Perfect Bride, and Charlotte: Money Maiden.

Super Mario Run will see the Bonus Medals you can collect on Remix 10 multiplied by 1.2 for the next week.

● Nintendo revealed their plans for the BitSummit 7 Spirits event on 01-02 June which they will be sponsoring, with Untitled Goose Game, Slay the Spire, and Cuphead as the key games, plus an Indie World Café area with over 30 Switch consoles and over 40 games detailed at this post.

● In some first day sell-throughs from Japan: Assassin’s Creed III Remastered is at 20%, Biohazard Origins Collection is at just 10%, and Team Sonic Racing is between 20-30%.

● The latest Japanese My Nintendo rewards include physical Super Mario Maker 2 items including an A5 Ring Notebook, 5 types of Stickers, and an Under Construction Memo Pad. Check out pictures at this post and the full list of current rewards in Japan at this page.

Nintendo Co., Ltd. shares increased again today by +450 (1.16%) in Japan today to close trading for the week at 39,080.00 JPY and at their highest for five weeks.

● After 153 games on Nintendo Switch, Hamster announced several new ones today with Nintendo’s Arcade Archives Clu Clu Land expected to release very soon. Other new games include Arcade Archives Solomon’s Key from Tecmo, Arcade Archives Alpine Ski and Arcade Archives Wild Western both from Taito, Arcade Archives Shusse Ozumo from Technos, and Arcade Archives Ninja Spirit from Irem. Check out the full SCHEDULE for all the upcoming titles coming to Switch, 3DS, and even one Wii U game!

● Koei Tecmo Games will finally release the DEAD OR ALIVE Xtreme 3 Scarlet Basic Free Edition on the Japanese Switch eShop next week (30 May). Basic play will be free, but each additional character will be priced at ¥1,296 and Casino Membership is ¥2,160.

● The Japanese magazine advert for Super Mario Maker 2 (here) confirms Cat Toadette will be in the game.

● Sega will rotate the sports in Tokyo 2020 Olympics The Official Video Game every 30 minutes in a new ‘Rank Games’ mode where you compete for online rankings. Boxing and Hammer Throw are also confirmed to be added. Check out a screen for each new sport here.

● Bandai Namco Entertainment updated Super Robot Taisen T to Version 1.03 today, which adds a Super Expert Mode, a Super Ace when a pilot reaches 300 kills, and more. The ‘Circle Play Support Pack’ also launched today priced at ¥1,200.

● D3 Publisher have updated the website for Omega Labyrinth Life with the Story and Character sections (obviously there’s NSFW elements, although it’s mostly fine!).

● The Uniqlo UT GRAND PRIX 2019 competition with the Pokémon Sword/Shield theme has ended in controversy with Uniqlo cancelling the award of the winner due to plagiarism (read more at Famitsu).

● The Playdate handheld videogame system from Panic, that releases in early 2020 and is set to deliver 12 games in 12 weeks will be coming to Japan. Check out the Japanese website here.

Wednesday Update:Mario Kart Tour Beta And Pokémon Rumble Rush Now Available On Android Devices, Plus Much More News!

● The closed beta test for Mario Kart Tour is now live. I won’t be posting any spoilers here other than to say the game is in portrait mode, include at least 30 playable characters, and has a heavy gacha element.

Pokémon Scramble SP (Pokémon Rumble Rush) is now available in most of the world on the Google Play Store with the App Store version to follow. Six new My Nintendo rewards are also now available and have been added to the REWARDS page.

● Square-Enix announced that Oni no Naku Kuni (Oninaki) will release for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on 22 August priced at ¥6,264. Check out the introduction video, box art, and early purchase benefits. here.

● A new ‘Spirit Shield Slowdown’ spirit event was announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate beginning this Friday, and where defeated spirits’ shields will spin slower after Spirit Board battles, and you get triple the SP!

● The third free Labo VR mini-game Sushi Board is now available on the Nintendo Switch News Channel if you have the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit Toy-Con.

● Konami announced retailer specific amiibo cards in Japan for Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu.

● Oizumi Amuzio have updated Tennis World Tour, adding the Roland Garros Pack for ¥2,500 which includes the players Rafael Nadal and Kristina Mladenovic, along with four new stadiums. Check out the promo video here.

● Square-Enix will release the third DLC ‘Modernist Pack’ for Dragon Quest Builders 2: Hakaishin Shidoo to Karappo no Shima next week (30 May) priced at ¥1,296. The pack includes more than 70 different recipes for modern-looking structures, hairstyles and clothing. Today’s livestream posted here.

● JFi Games announced that JUSTDAN INTERNATIONAL will be publishing the action game Dusk Diver simultaneously world-wide this Fall with a PlayStation 4 version newly announced. Check out the PS4 announcement trailer and new screenshots at this post.

● Koei Tecmo Games have updated Atelier Lulua ~The Scion of Arland~ to Version 1.03 fixing bugs, and adding both Traditional and Simplified Chinese language support to the Switch version.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will be added to the games able to be purchased with the Nintendo Catalog Ticket (Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers) and will otherwise cost ¥7,538 and will require 13.2 GB of disk space.

● Epic Games have updated Fortnite to v9.10 adding Hot Spots (Randomly selected locations on the map that have a high loot rate with an increase of Supply Drops) and Limited Time Mode rotation (Sniper Shootout Duos, Unvaulted Squads, and Close Encounters Squads) in Battle Royale mode, and Fortnite x Jordan Downtown Drop LTM and a Haunted Hills Theme in Creative.

● And while no official announcement has been made yet, expect a FIFA 20 reveal soon as Amazon currently have it listed for 28 September release.

● Sting announced the macho man training game Macho de Pon!ZZ for release on the Japanese switch eShop next week (30 May) priced at ¥888. Check out the Switch version trailer here.

● KEMCO announced the turn-based RPG Asdivine Dios for release on the Switch eShop after July with a world-wide launch expected. Check out the promo video here.

● TROOOZE’s mystery game teased a few days ago is the multiplayer third-person shooter Bullet Battle Evolution which is now available to preload for ¥1,800, and launches next week (30 May).

● Flyhigh Works announced their first Switch game for a few weeks with a localisation of the puzzle platformer Typoman as Wordman. The game releases next week (30 May) and is available to preload now for ¥1,080 (the regular price is ¥1,200). Japanese trailer posted here.

● Teyon Japan announced the survival RPG Smoke and Sacrifice will release on the Japanese Switch eShop next week (30 May) with preloads now live priced at ¥2,000. Japanese trailer posted here.

● X.D. Network announced that the rhythm action game Muse Dash will release on the Switch eShop on 20 June priced at ¥3,240/$29.99. It’s not available to preload yet, but will launch with a 10% discount.

Mortal Kombat 11 was the best-selling game for April in the United States according to NPD data including for Switch. Switch was the best-selling console for April and year-to-date with both unit and dollar sales.

Tuesday Update:Kirby Voted Most Popular Character, Nintendo Mobile Games Being Removed in Belgium, & New Dragon Quest X Game!

● The lead image is Kirby once again being voted the most popular character with readers of Nintendo Dream magazine, followed by Link, Pikachu, and Isabelle! Check out the full top 20 here.

● Nintendo announced that both Fire Emblem Heroes and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will be pulled from the App Store and Google Play Store in Belgium on 27 August 2019 due to their loot-box mechanics. Future similar Nintendo mobile titles will also no longer release in the country. Super Mario Run will not be affected as the rest of the game can be purchased outright.

● Square-Enix announced the latest entry in the Dragon Quest X series with Dragon Quest X Ibara no Miko to Horobi no Kami Online (literally ‘The Maiden of Thorns and the God of Destruction’ releasing in 2019. The original DQX game will be required to play with the Switch version being a download code inside a box, Wii U will be download only, and 3DS will not require any additional purchase. ● Arc System Works updated BLAZBLUE CROSS TAG BATTLE to Version 1.5 and added the Additional Character Set Vol. 7 which adds Heart Ano, Naoto Kurogana, Teddie, and Seth.

● Weekly Famitsu will also cover Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu, introducing new co-op and battle modes for up-to four players including “Treasure”, “Home Run Attack”, “My Life”, and “Success”.

● 505 Games announced the action adventure game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons will be coming to the Nintendo Switch eShop on 28 May, and sometime later in Japan. Check out the Switch version trailer here.

TROOOZE will showcase a new Nintendo Switch title at BitSummit 7 Spirits. This new game will actually release next week (30 May) on the Japanese Switch eShop.

● Careux updated the official website for Dear Magi -Mahou Shonen Gakka-. The game is still scheduled for Summer release.

● Capcom revealed that Monster Hunter XX (Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate) has now sold 3.1 million units worldwide on Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch as of 31 March 2019.

● Idea Factory announced the visual novel collection BROTHERS CONFLICT Precious Baby (containing both Brilliant Blue and Passion Pink ) for release on Nintendo Switch on 29 August. Promo videos posted here.

● Next month’s issue of CoroCoro Ichiban, due out on 21 June, will feature information on Pokémon Sword/Shield. It’s likely the information will be the same as what will be revealed at E3 easier in the month.

● A GameXplain video revealed that the Nintendo Switch version of Resident Evil 4 does not contain the Wii’s original motion controls.

● Kakehashi Games will see their 100th Japanese Switch localisation release on the eShop this week with Team17’s prison break simulation game The Escapists: Complete Edition. Check out the trailer here.

● Zodiac Interactive announced the visual novel game One-Way Ticket for Switch release in June. Japanese voice is supported so I’ll do a separate post once details emerge of the inevitable domestic release. Check out the trailer here.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw Corrin: Fateful Prince and Kana: Dragon Princess waiting in Special Maps for Bound Hero Battle Revival: Corrin & Kana. Tomorrow will see Special Heroes (Bridal Belonging) featuring Tanith: Forthright Heart, Sigrun: Steadfast Bride, Pent: Fancy Fiancé, and Fjorm: Bride of Rime. COMG! rankings indicate a slow week with Minecraft at number one with just 15 pts and Ys with 14 pts. Yokai Watch 4: Bokura wa Onajikara o Miage Tale preorders are at 42 pts.

TSUTAYA rankings had Days Gone at number one for the fourth week, followed by Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

● In results from the North American/European Splatfest: Team Teleportation defeated Team Time Travel 3-0 with 58.66% of the Votes, 50.58% of Normal Rules, and 50.53% of Pro Rules.

● In UK charts: Rage 2 opened at number one, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still at six, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is down two places to number 10.

● The Pokémon Company announced Pokémon Scramble SP (formerly Pokéland) for release on iOS/Android in Japan ‘soon’. It’s already available in Australia as Pokémon Rumble Rush.

● Level-5 announced they have delayed Yokai Watch 4: Bokura wa Onajikara o Miage Tale from 06 to 20 June, in order to improve the quality of the finished product.

● The third Teto 1 Cup/Maximus Cup/Grand Prix event has now begun in TETRIS 99 with Game Boy graphics and music. 100 event points will unlock you the Game Boy theme!

● SmileBoom announced the latest Petit Computer title Puchikon 4 SmileBASIC for release on the Japanese Switch eShop next week (23 May) priced at ¥3,000. The game supports Joy-Con, HD Rumble, Motion IR Camera, various Toy-Con (piano, house, fishing, bike, and robot), and USB keyboard or mouse.

● Play,Doujin! announced the strategy RPG PIRATES 7 and the platformer Motch A Girl for Nintendo Switch. Both games will be at BitSummit 7 along with the previously announced Maid-san wo Migi ni☆ (Super Zangyura). PIRATES 7 will be Japanese only, with no plans for localisation. ● RS34 confirmed that the latest entry in the Radirgy shoot ’em up series Radirgy Swag will be coming to Japanese Switch eShop on 13 June priced at ¥2,000. Check out screenshots here.

● Cliffside’s 3D third-person adventure game Kato is hopefully coming to Nintendo Switch, say the developers. Check out the trailer here.

● Kogado Studio announced a demo for the visual novel Yumeutsutsu Re:Master for release on the Japanese Switch eShop next week (23 May) with the full game launching on 13 June.

● Teyon Japan announced that Human: Fall Flat will be updated to Version 1.4.2 next week (23 May) adding a friends list, a new stage ‘Dark’, three new characters (skeleton, mummy, and present), 11 new skins, and bug fixes.Check out the update trailer here.

● Square-Enix have updated FINAL FANTASY VII to Version 1.01 which fixes an issue that caused background music to restart after the end of each battle, and other minor bugs.

● Toydea updated Dragon Fang Z Ryuusha Rose to Yadorigi no Meikyuu to Version 1.4.1 with bug fixes.
