● Nintendo Co., Ltd. have applied for 13 new trademarks in Japan including for Princess Daisy, Kinopico (Toadette), Kuribo (Goomba), Fireflower, Dokan (Pipe), and Star. Check out the full applications here.

● The 10th Japanese Splatfest was announced for 21-22 April alongside JAMSTEC (Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology) with a theme of ‘Unknown creatures vs. Advanced technology’.

● Arc System Works announced the dungeon RPG Wizard’s Symphony for Nintendo Switch as the latest work in the Wizards Harmony series and scheduled for 2018 release.

● Sekai Project announced the roguelike RPG A magicAl high-school girl as a worldwide release on Nintendo Switch in Spring 2018.

● PLiCy announced the adventure game Buddy Collection if -Shukumei no Akai Ito- for the Nintendo Switch eShop this Spring priced at ¥864.

● And Cosen will announce the 2D fighting game Fight Of Gods for Nintendo Switch in the coming days. None of the above four new game announcements are April Fool’s.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw some novelty Leaf Tickets free for every player to celebrate April Fool’s Day!

Fire Emblem Heroes saw Bound Hero Battle Revival: Minerva & Maria, some limited-time special quests, Awakening Special Maps, Part 2, featuring Olivia and Blessed Gardens: New Map adding the Grotto of Fire.

Nintendo Apply For 13 New Trademarks 

Nintendo Co., Ltd. have applied for 13 new trademarks in Japan including four for Princess Daisy (two in English and two as デイジー姫), two for Kinopico (Toadette – both applications using the English word Kinopico and the Japanese キノピコ), two for Kuribo (Goomba – again both applications use the English word and the Japanese クリボー), two for Fireflower (both using English and the Japanese ファイアフラワー), two for 土管 (which translates to Dokan, or Pipe), and one for Star (using both the English word and the Japanese スター).
