Rumours from both the VGC and Eurogamer websites lead to speculation over what the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. game will entail. VGC report that “Nintendo will reveal plans to re-release most of Super Mario’s 35-year back catalogue this year, remastered for Nintendo Switch” and that “Nintendo will also release several other Mario titles in 2020, including a new instalment in the Paper Mario series.” Eurogamer also list Super Mario Galaxy as “one of the games being readied for a remaster, alongside a couple of other 3D Mario favourites.” Eurogamer too corroborate the Paper Mario story, “along with a Deluxe version of Super Mario 3D World, which will include an array of new levels.” Edit: Gematsu also add high-definition remasters of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine to the list.Continue reading
Episode 489 of IGN’s Nintendo Voice Chat podcast sees Peer Schneider further hint that one of the two Wii U ports mentioned by Emily Rogers will be Pikmin 3: “One of them is a 9/10 for me and the other is a 6/10” and later that he “loves what Nintendo does with real time strategy games.” Neither the Wii U ports or Switch version of Pikmin 3 have been confirmed by Nintendo. Ryokutya are reporting of Futari de! Nyanko Daisensou screenshots, in what is expected to be from CoroCoro Comic, depicting what looks like a two-player battle mode, and which is scheduled to be playable at the World Hobby Fair Winter ’20 in late January. The game currently has two-player co-op on a single screen only.
