New Famicom Game Announced 

Columbus Circle have announced their fifth physical release for the Famicom with the Metroidvania Battle Kid: Kiken na Wana (literally Battle Kid: Dangerous Trap) available from 20 September priced at ¥5,378 and featuring both Japanese and English language options. Nintendo Apply For GameCube Trademarks 

Nintendo Co., Ltd. have applied for three new GameCube trademarks in Japan related to video gaming (not general merchandising) purposes including video game program and video game machine.

Other new trademark applications include 風花雪月 (related to the upcoming Fire Emblem game), 黄金の国イーラ (related to the upcoming Xenoblade 2 DLC), Sky Skipper (the old arcade game that releases on Switch in July), Fitness Boxing (the Imagineer game that will be localised in the west by Nintendo), NES (English word), Nintendo Entertainment System (English word), Game Boy (again English word) and two for Nintendo 3DS. ● First of all, I’d like to offer my condolences to the friends, family and followers of John ’TotalBiscuit’ Bain.

● Nintendo Co., Ltd. applied for trademarks in Japan for Nintendo Entertainment System and NES, plus the games Balloon Fight, Ice Climber and Zelda (all English words). Actual applications added here.

● Image & Form announced that both the original SteamWorld Dig and the strategy game SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition will release in Japan this Summer.

● A roster of 26 Mario Tennis Ace(s) characters were uncovered in a datamining of the demo. Check out the full list (obviously spoilers) here.

● Nintendo updated Xenoblade 2 to Ver. 1.4.1, which includes five additional quests for Expansion Pass holders. Full patch notes posted here.

● Master T and Solange, both from Code of Princess Ex were confirmed as playable characters in Blade Strangers. Teaser clips here and here.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw Carmen and Zell arrive along with some of their favourite modern-themed furniture. Animals pictured and furniture detailed here.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw the Tempest Trials+: Loki’s Flames begin, with the big rewards being a Special Hero, Marth: Altean Groom, and a Sacred Seal, Flier Formation 1.

Super Mario Run saw the Gold Goomba Lite Event begin where you have an easier chance to get the Captured Goomba Statue, Captured Hammer Bro Statue, Captured Chain Chomp Statue and the Cappy Statue.

Astro Ninja Man announced for Famicom 

RIKI, who most recently developed Kirakira Star Night DX and 8bit Music Power Final for the Famicom have announced a new game Astro Ninja Man, scheduled for March release where it will likely see a physical release published by Columbus Circle. Check out the debut trailer below…

Golf shown running on Nintendo Switch 

Please note I cannot verify the following although there is video footage at the source and below that both show the Famicom/NES game Golf running on Nintendo Switch.

Golf on flog has been launched! Only seems to work on 1.0.0 systems that have never been connected to the Internet. The system date must be set to July 11 (Iwata’s death). Then, mimic the “Directly” gesture with both Joy-Con in Home Menu.

Nintendo Classic Mini Famicom up for pre-order

The Nintendo Classic Mini: Family Computer is now up for pre-order for $99.99 at Play-Asia and will ship on 10 November 2016. The Mini Famicom comes with a HDMI Cable and USB Cable. You can also order a separate (Japanese) AC Adapter (here) although the one you use for your smartphone/tablet will work. Nintendo Co., Ltd. have finally announced the Nintendo Classic Mini: Family Computer to release in Japan on 10 November priced at just 6,458 yen. 30 games, two controllers and a USB lead are included (the separate AC Adapter is 1,080 yen).
