Welcome to day two of our live coverage of Nintendo Treehouse. Confirmed is Pokémon GO, a brand new RPG and Mario Party: Star Rush. Please note I won’t be covering games already released in Japan. The Twitch link is here with the YouTube video below….
● It’s started! Developer Q&A for Pokémon GO including Shigeru Miyamoto. I’ll just post new information. Reminder that the new RPG reveal is at 10:55 PT (18:55 BST). Back to Pokémon GO and Bill caught Meowth at E3! Lots of Japanese talk. It’s about as fun as watching the UFC post-fight interviews in Portuguese. The game will start with just generation one but will eventually be updated. Hopefully more effectively than the Pokédex app. Rare Pokémon will be rare in GO.
● Miyamoto talking Pokémon GO Plus (the wearable device). Connects via Bluetooth to smartphones without needing to look at your device. Vibrates when a Pokémon is near. Throw a Pokéball with the middle button: it flashes rainbow if successful and flashes red if unsuccessful. Trading will come later. Pokémon GO coming the end of July! Pokémon GO Plus will cost $34.99. Short break for five minutes until the RPG reveal!
● Ever Oasis is the new 3D Action RPG by Grezzo (Ocarina of Time 3D/Majora’s Mask 3D)! Director Koichi Ishii directed Final Fantasy I – III and the Seiken Densetsu series. Choose a male or female lead. Very Egyptian-ny. Owl/Penguin hybrids in the game! The debut trailer is here. Build your own oasis with Zelda-like dungeons and solve puzzles. Game has real-time combat and some awesome bosses. Reminds me of Fantasy Life. Another break now.
● BOXBOXBOY! now. Coking 30 June (already in Japan). Mario Party: Star Rush after the break! We’re back! Faster four-player simultaneous gameplay. Download play. First game shows Toad Scramble with a Mega Goomba boss! Play as Red, Yellow or Blue Toad or as Kinopio-kun (actually it’s Green Toad). North American box art here. Looks fun. Loads of ally characters you can win or steal. Expect Japanese confirmation tomorrow.
● And it’s amiibo time! Wario, Waluigi, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Daisy, Rosalina and glow-in-the-dark Boo. Confirmed that they will be compatible with Mario Party: Star Rush but didn’t say how. Yokai Watch 2 next with Hino appearing but since that’s already released in Japan, I’m guessing that’s all folks! I’ll work on (another!) daily news update now and thanks for reading!
