Thursday Update with Bowser videogame trademark application plus more news!

● The lead story is Nintendo filing a trademark application for a Koopa (Bowser) videogame. The trademark was applied for on 24 February along with Super Mario Bros., Luigi, Donkey Kong and Yoshi trademarks and is the only one of the five relating to an actual ‘Program for home video game console’.

● SMG Studio’s multiplayer puzzle game Death Squared which was confirmed for Nintendo Switch only yesterday will also come to the Japanese Switch eShop at a later date.

● The self-proclaimed ‘rhythm violence’ game Thumper is coming to the Switch eShop worldwide on 18 May courtesy of Drool. No Japanese price as of yet but we predict ¥2,000.

● The Blaster Master Zero DLC in Japan will be ¥200 per character (each is free for the initial two weeks of becoming available).

Super Mario Run players have now played Toad Rally 37,585,504 total times since the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe event so the Mario Kart Statue reward (40 million plays) is expected to have been met by tomorrow!

● Two Nintendo videogames (Donkey Kong and Pocket Monsters Red & Green) will be inducted into the 2017 World Video Game Hall of Fame.

● And an interview (plus concept art) with Pixel Perfex developer Anucha Aribarg who is the lead designer with the awesome looking shmup Earth Atlantis which is coming to Nintendo Switch.

● Finally, Collectible Badge Center will be updated shortly (well theoretically as it is Golden Week!) so check back on the website later on for all this week’s badges!
