FuRyu Future Development UPDATE 

Japanese studio FuRyu have said that “Investment in game development will be temporarily suspended” outside of its current announced Nintendo Switch titles WORK×WORK in September and Beyblade Burst Battle Zero in October.

FuRyu were prolific Nintendo 3DS publishers with seven Doraemon games and several Cardfight!! VanguardFuture Card Buddyfight and Jewelpet titles, as well as both The Alliance Alive and The Legend of Legacy. Thanks to Gematsu.

Edit: FuRyu have tweeted an update saying they will continue to develop and publish home console games in the same way as before, even after this fiscal year, with only smartphone development affected.

Retro RPG WORK×WORK Announced

The mystery FuRyu teaser website is for a completely new RPG WORK×WORK for Nintendo Switch and includes both Nobuhiro Imagawa and Nobuyuki Inoue from the Mother 3 team. The game is described as having ‘retro-flavoured graphics’ and releases on 27 September priced at ¥5,378 including tax.

FuRyu website opens for mystery game UPDATED

FuRyu have opened up a website at http://pr-al.com with the above animated gif and the words “Call to Quarters!” We’ll keep you posted if it’s Nintendo related (or delete the post if its PS4!)!

Edit: Gematsu report that it is a JRPG called The Alliance Alive due Spring 2017 for ¥6,264. I’ll have more in the update tomorrow but I’m playing Monster Hunter Stories now! Thanks to Hero of Legend.

Two FuRyu games removed

Two FuRyu games are scheduled to be removed from the Japanese 3DS eShop at 09:59 on 27 November JST with Hamatora: Look at Smoking World above which was released on 17 July 2014 and UnchainBlades Exiv (the sequel to Unchained Blades) which was initially released at retail on 29 November 2012 (and shortly after as digital). No reason for the removal.
