Friday Update with Flipnote Studio 3D online ending, Gotta Protectors web only sequel and much more news! 

● Nintendo will terminate the online Flipnote Studio 3D service on 2 April 2018 with new in-game passes unable to be purchased from 2 October 2017. Offline functionality should continue. Picture taken from this YouTube video.

● Ancient Games celebrate the third anniversary of the 3DS game Mamotte Knight 2/Gotta Protectors with a web only Famicom/NES game called Amazon’s Running Diet where you play as an overweight Amazon and have to jump to avoid the temptation of cake!

● Nintendo have announced that Version 3.0 of ARMS will allow for a customisable button layout (as well as add Lola Pop as a playable character!). It is expected next week.

Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle has been confirmed for Japanese release on Nintendo Switch. It was inevitable but now 100%!

● The retail version of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for Nintendo Switch is ‘selling well’ with additional shipments expected in late September.

● SmileBoom have announced that their Petit Computer titles will see a permanent price revision from today with Puchikon No. 3 SmileBASIC for 3DS from ¥1,000 → ¥500 and Puchikon BIG for Wii U from ¥3,000 → ¥1,000.

● The Monster Hunter XX Nintendo Switch Ver. collaboration with Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts has now begun. It was previously available on 3DS.

Miitomo today saw the “Cute Chinese creations! Miitomo Chinese Fashion [A]” stage available on Miitomo Drop with Panda T-Shirt, Yin-Yang Bomber Jacket, Long Braided Topknot and Kung Fu Outfit.

Fire Emblem Heroes today saw the Tempest Trials Mini begin which runs for a shorter time than normal Tempest Trials and obtaining rewards is made easier.

Nintendo eShop Charts for the past week have MHXX, Minecraft and Splatoon 2 (Switch), DQIII, DQII and PM: Pikachu (3DS) and Mother 3, Cube Life and Metal Blader Glory (Wii U) as the top 3s. I’ll post the full top 10s when home from hospital!

‪Monster Hunter XX Nintendo Switch Ver. shipments are apparently 300,000 in Asia with 200,000 of those in Japan (as tweeted by Takashi Mochizuki and originally reported in ‘Ace’).‬
