Square-Enix talking with Nintendo about Final Fantasy XV

Eurogamer again spoke with Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata regarding the game being ported to Nintendo Switch. Tabata says that they are “having very open, frank discussions with Nintendo at the moment about what they think is the best thing to do” although they tried testing the engine used with the other console versions and “the results weren’t satisfactory”. Square-Enix are also talking with Epic about potentially using Unreal Engine 4 for a potential port although no decision has been made. Read the full interview here.

Final Fantasy XV hint for Nintendo Switch

Square Enix strongly hinted at a Nintendo Switch version of Final Fantasy XV during Gamescom 2017 with Hajime Tabata saying: “We can’t give you any complete solid details right at the moment… there’s another certain console out there people maybe thinking of that sounds a little bit like ‘Twitch’. I think we’ll just leave it there.” There is no official announcement over the game releasing or whether it will be the (pictured) Pocket Edition or the ‘normal’ version.
