G-Mode Teasing New Announcement

Japanese studio G-mode are teasing a new announcement will be made at 12:00 JST on April 2, 2020. The company own the rights to many Data East titles including the pictured Karate Champ. G-mode also recently resurrected the BurgerTime franchise with BurgerTime Party for Nintendo Switch. Non-Data East titles on Switch include Toridama, Kuukiyomi, Gunma’s Ambition, and more. Thursday Update with Magical Drop 2, Fatal Fury 2 and Metal Slug 2 announced for Switch, plus more news! 

● Hamster are bringing Data East titles to Nintendo Switch! The first game will be Magical Drop 2 as part of their ACA series. Other titles are planned too. Other SNK titles newly announced for Switch are Garou Densetsu 2: Aratanaru Tatakai (Fatal Fury 2) and Metal Slug 2. Coming before these will be the previously announced Shock Troopers: 2nd Squad and Sengoku Denshou which were also both re-confirmed yesterday by Hamster.

● Q-Cumber Factory who developed the awesome Ninja Smasher! and Alchemic Dungeons for Nintendo 3DS told us today “I would like to develop for Switch!”

● A trio of websites opened up today with Koei Tecmo Games and Fire Emblem Musou (Warriors) here looking awesome! Capcom also opened up the Monster Hunter XX Nintendo Switch Ver. website here. Imagineer also opened up the website for Koueki Zaidan Houjin Nippon Kanji Nouryoku Kentei Kyoukai Kanken Training 2 (we’ll just refer to it as Kanken Training 2 from now on!) here.

● HORI today revealed an officially licensed Splatoon 2 Stereo Headset HDP for Nintendo Switch releases on 21 July priced at ¥3,758 ($34) and that will be compatible with the Online Lobby and Voice Chat app and in-game with Splatoon 2! See the pictures here.

● Nintendo have updated the ARMS Global Testpunch demo to Version 1.1.0 adding the Ramen Bowl stage and the Hoops and Skillshot mini-games and also fixes the bug that apparently allows you to play anytime. Both ARMS and Splatoon 2 will see tournaments at World Hobby Fair ’17 Summer on 24-25 June too!

Nintendo Switch took perhaps the longest time to sell out today on the My Nintendo Store at a little over three hours although this was more due to the site crashing for most of these three hours rather than declining interest!

● Cross Function have announced that they’ll be permanently reducing the prices of the Wii U eShop titles Runbow and Master Reboot next week to a more affordable ¥1,000 apiece.

Super Mario Run saw the return of the Loads of Coins event which runs from today until 15 June. Win at Toad Rally during this period, and you’ll get 1.5 times as many coins as usual!

Fire Emblem Heroes tomorrow will see a Grand Hero Battle with Camus: Sable Knight. I’ll make a separate post shortly!  

● First episode of Yoiko’s Minecraft Survival Life will air live on the official Nintendo Youtube channel on 8 June at 15:00 JST with Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Version (obviously) being the featured game.

● Blaster Master Zero added Ekoro (Gal*Gun) as free a DLC character today (well, free for two weeks so be quick!).
