The Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase originally aired on Thursday 17th September featuring information on upcoming Nintendo Switch titles. Global times for the live-streamed presentation were 07:00 PT, 10:00 ET, 15:00 BST, 16:00 CEST, and 23:00 JST. The Monster Hunter Direct aired directly after the Partner Showcase. Monster Hunter Rise
An all-new entry in the classic Monster Hunter series was announced for Nintendo Switch which features four new monsters to battle, the Wirebug insect where players can scale cliffs, the new ridable Palamute companion, and 4-player co-op play. Monster Hunter Rise launches worldwide on March 26, 2021, alongside three new amiibo (pictured here).
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin
The second Monster Hunter announcement was a sequel to the classic 2016 3DS RPG with Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. The game tasks players to become a Monster Rider and embark on an RPG adventure filled with popular monsters from the series, and launches worldwide for Nintendo Switch in Summer 2021.
Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise
The sequel to the smash hit fitness game sees three new instructors (Karen, Janice, and Hiro) totalling nine, customisable outfits, a two-player mode, an alarm function, the ability to remove some boxing actions, and save data carrying over from the first game. Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise launches December 3 in Japan and the 4th overseas.
Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny
The first new Disgaea game in six years has been confirmed for Nintendo Switch release and it’s the first title in the series to feature 3D graphics! The game sees you play as the zombie Zed who gets stronger the more he dies! Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny launches on January 28, 2021, in Japan and in Summer 2021 overseas.
Defy the god of the dead in this Greek mythology-inspired dungeon crawler featuring thousands of story events and ability combinations to ensure a unique experience each time players hack and slash their way out of the Underworld. Hades launches in Winter 2021 in Japan, and sis available traight after the Direct overseas!
Square-Enix’s upcoming 3D platformer features more than 80 costumes to find with each outfit wielding a variety of abilities. A two-player mode is also available which allows players to combine costume abilities with friends and subsequently reach new locations! Balan Wonderworld launches worldwide on March 26, 2021.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
The highly-anticipated sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest features a brand new adventure with larger-than-life bosses, an expansive cast of new characters, and an all-new shard system to power-up Ori’s newfound abilities. Ori and the Will of the Wisps launches worldwide today with a physical Ori Collector’s Edition also announced.
Into the Breach
The turn-based strategy game sees mech battles where the remnants of human civilisation are threatened by gigantic creatures breeding beneath the earth. Control powerful mechs from the future to hold off this alien threat. Already available in the west, Into the Breach will launch on the Japanese Switch eShop today.
A co-op multiplayer game where you work together with your friends to build a train track across endless procedurally generated worlds, master random encounters, upgrade your train, and keep it from derailing! Unrailed! launches worldwide on September 23 as a digital only release with a demo straight after the presentation!
This 2D platformer action game features a Campaign Mode, which focuses on rich level designs and a seamless transition of gameplay and animation cutscenes, a Survival Simulation Mode, Multiplayer Mode, and an Online PVP mode. HARDCORE MECHA launches worldwide on October 15 with a demo available from today!
Rune Factory 5
The final game in the Direct saw the latest entry in the popular Rune Factory RPG series which features a new battle system which lets players perform combo attacks with allies to take down monsters. Rune Factory 5 is no longer releasing this year but is scheduled for next Spring in Japan and has a general 2021 date in the rest of the world.
