Dragon Quest Rivals Changing Name
Square-Enix have announced they will be changing the name of Dragon Quest Rivals to Dragon Quest Rivals Ace in August, adding a solo mode.
Square-Enix’s card-battling game Dragon Quest Rivals will receive a super-large update on August 13 for Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and Steam, which implements the long-awaited single player mode “Solo Battle Adventure”, adds the new card pack “Heroes’ Triumphant Return”, changes some of the game card rules, and renames the game title to “Dragon Quest Rivals Ace”. A “super” luxury campaign to commemorate DQ Rivals Ace will also coincide with its launch. Check out the all-new Dragon Quest Rivals Ace website here and watch the promo videos below…
The new card pack features the protagonist, Conrad, Eileen, and more characters from the Famicom game Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line, plus a new “Dungeon” gimmick, and much more. The new solo mode is supposedly a “Dragon Quest-like battle experience” aimed at both existing Dragon Quest Rivals players and those that have never played the game before but enjoy the Dragon Quest RPG series. More information will be revealed at the “Rivals LIVE! Vol.1” live video broadcast which will air on August 6 at 20:00 JST (video here).
