PSO2 New Genesis Announced For Switch

SEGA have announced that the online RPG Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2021 as a cloud based game.

The latest entry in the PSO2 series, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis was announced at Microsoft’s Online Conference, the Xbox Games Showcase. Celebrating Phantasy Star Online’s 20th anniversary, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is the latest entry in the series, updating PSO2’s game system and graphics engine. The game is also scheduled for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC release in Japan with Nintendo Switch version being cloud based and unannounced for overseas release. PHANTASY STAR ONLINE 2 NEW GENESIS

Phantasy Star Online 2 is a free-to-play online action role-playing game that first released in 2012 on PC. The Nintendo Switch received a cloud version in 2018. Although the Switch version was never localised, both Xbox One and PC players can experience PSO2 in the west. The game is a follow-up to Phantasy Star Online and Phantasy Star Universe which released in 2000 and 2006 respectively. The first Phantasy Star game released on the Sega Mark III (Master System) in Japan in December 1987, just two days after the first Final Fantasy game released on the Family Computer.
