Mario Kart Tour Adds Landscape Mode
Nintendo have updated the Mario Kart Tour game to Version 2.4.0 adding the option to play in landscape or portrait mode during races.
The next update for the Mario Kart Tour game for smart devices arrives on July 21 where players will have the option of racing in either the existing portrait mode or the new landscape mode. New options will be added to support this change where players can either select Portrait, Portrait / Landscape, or Landscape. More details and update trailer added below.
When set to Landscape, the screen will be fixed to a landscape orientation during races. When set to Portrait, the screen will be fixed to a portrait orientation (as has been the case since the game’s launch) during races. When set to Portrait / Landscape, the game will switch between these two modes during races depending on the current orientation of your device.
When Left / Right Controls is enabled and you race in landscape mode, you can use the left side of the screen to steer your kart and the right side of the screen to use items. Landscape mode is only available during races. The tutorial and Practice While Downloading races do not support landscape mode. Further details will be posted when the update is released.
Edit: Version 2.4.0 is now available requiring 218.3 MB (plus a further 368 MB in-app). In addition to landscape mode, the update adds the ability for players to invite their friends to a multiplayer room that they have created, adds support for different events (further details , including the schedule, will be made available via upcoming in-game notifications), and adjusts the appearance of the main screen.
