Koei Tecmo Games and Gust have confirmed that Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & The Secret Fairy is in development for Nintendo Switch.

After the huge success of Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, the sequel, which itself was somewhat of an open secret has finally been confirmed and is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam this Winter in Japan, with a western localisation inevitable but unconfirmed at time of posting. Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & The Secret Fairy marks the first time in the series’ history that the same protagonist has remained for two consecutive games. The sequel is set three years after the adventures of the original game with Ryza receiving a letter and a request from a friend.

To commemorate the announcement of the new game, Koei Tecmo Games have reduced the price of the original Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout on the Japanese Switch eShop by 39% until August 4, where it can be purchased for ¥5,233. Owning save date of the original game will also unlock an unspecified privilege in the upcoming game. Further information will be revealed in a little over a week’s time!
