Kwaidan Coming to Switch
Rainy Frog are bringing the 3D point-and-click action adventure game Kwaidan ～Azuma manor story～ to Nintendo Switch next month…
Kwaidan ～Azuma manor story～ (or “Azumatei Kwaidan” as it’s known in Japan) combines 3D action and point-and-click adventure, for a nostalgic experience but with a modern twist. The game is already available worldwide for PlayStation 4 and Steam, with the Nintendo Switch version coming to the eShop in August, priced at ¥2,500.
The game is set in romantic 1930s Japan and sees players explore an old Japanese manor, solve the fiendish mechanical puzzles set there, and do battle with the nightmarish Yoki monsters that lurk within. Players move and fight through the world in 3D, but can call up a cursor to examine points of interest at any time.
Kwaidan features retro polygon graphics that evoke memories of games from the early 2000s, with film-reel-style presentation that transports players to a secluded mountain manor from the earliest days of Japan’s Showa era. It was designed from the ground up and is intended to deliver high-wire suspense from beginning to end.
