Nintendo eShop Update
This week’s full Japanese Nintendo eShop update including Paper Mario: The Origami King, Donkey Kong Country, and Shin Megami Tensei!
Select highlights
The highlight of this week is the latest Paper Mario game Paper Mario: The Origami King from Nintendo / Intelligent Systems which sees the player lead Mario, Olivia, Bowser, Luigi, and more to defeat King Olly and his henchmen, find the many Toads, and ultimately rescue Princess Peach! The Origami King is the sixth Paper Mario series title (excluding the Mario & Luigi crossover) and delivers open world navigation for the first time as opposed to the series’ typical chapters.
Also releasing this week are three new Nintendo Switch Online games, the most notable of which is the first Donkey Kong Country game. Developed by Rare, features state-of-the-art graphics (for 1994) across the game’s 100 levels and introduces King K. Rool to the gaming world! Another highlight is the first Shin Megami Tensei game, which originally appeared on the Super Famicom back in 1992, and delivers the trademark classic 3D dungeon crawling of the series.
Available to preload this week includes the comedy romance game Cupid Parasite from Idea Factory which requires 6.8 GB and is priced at ¥7,150. As always, it only supports Japanese. Nussoft’s crab fighting game Fight Crab is also available to preload and requires just 628 MB. It also offers English support and costs ¥2,400 (a little over $20). Two demos this week with Bokura no Dai Undoukai from SAT-BOX and Factotum 90 Double Walkers from Rainy Frog.
