New Dragon Quest Games Announced
Square-Enix have announced that the Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai (Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken) game project is for three titles coming to mobile, arcade, and home consoles respectively. More details below…
The first title is a “great explosion” RPG, entitled Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken –TamashII no Kizuna–, and is being developed by DeNA for smartphone release in 2021.
The second title is the “card battling” arcade game Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken Xross Blade developed by Takara Tomy Arts and set for release after Fall 2020.
The third title is an action RPG Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken Infinity Strash developed by Square-Enix, but with no platforms announced other than “home consoles”, releasing in 2021.
In related news: the Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken anime will air on TV Tokyo in Japan from 2020 produced by Toei Animation.
The producer of the project was previously announced as Ryutaro Ichimura, who previously produced both Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King for PlayStation 2 and Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies for Nintendo DS.
