Shantae and the Seven Sirens Japanese Release Likely

After being announced for May 28, 2020 release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam in the west yesterday, WayForward tweeted that they’re still working out the details of the Japanese and Asian release plans for Shantae and the Seven Sirens on Switch and PS4, although the game will see domestic Steam and Xbox One versions release on May 28. Automaton went one further and asked WayForward for further details, who responded saying they are currently negotiating with a Japanese publisher regarding the game releasing in Japan on both Switch and PS4.

Both Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse (as “Shantae -Kaizoku no Noroi- for Nintendo Switch”) and Shantae: Half- Genie Hero Ultimate Edition were published by Oizumi Amuzio in Japan, and are logically (although not definitively) the publisher in question who are being spoken to other the Japanese release of Seven Sirens.
