Thursday Update:Animal Crossing: New Horizons Receives 1st Update, Plus More News!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is just a few hours away from launch with a Version 1.1.0 update now available adding the Bunny Day event (which begins April 1), online features, the NookLink service (available tomorrow), and a few in-game items including the pictured above Switch!

● The coronavirus infection has led to the delays of three Switch games in Japan with Root Film delayed from April 23 to July 30, Himehibi Another Princess Days ~ White or Black ~ from Summer to within 2020, and Phantasy Star Online 2 Cloud Episode 6 Deluxe Package from April 23 to May 21.

● Idea Factory announced the visual novel fandisc Code : Realize ~Shirogane no Kiseki~ for Nintendo Switch for release on July 16 priced at ¥7,344 or ¥9,130 for a limited edition. PS4/Vita version trailers posted here.

● Entergram and Hooksoft announced the visual novel E School Life for Switch and PS4 release on June 25 priced at ¥6,600 for physical, ¥6,050 for digital, and ¥11,000 for a limited edition. Box art posted here.

● Prototype will publish the visual novel Gunka o Haita Neko for Switch on June 18 priced at ¥7,150. Check out the excellent box art here.

● Nintendo announced that OCTOPATH TRAVELER has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide and is 50% off until April 2. Check out the special artwork here.

● White Owls and Grounding confirmed they will also publish the open-world simulation The Good Life for Switch in Japan this year.

● Success announced that Umihara Kawase BaZooKa! has also gone gold on PS4 (it went gold several days ago on Switch). A Switch demo will also arrive before the game releases on May 28.

Pokémon Sword & Shield‘s Wild Area Event has changed adding Darumaka, Indeedee, Corsola, Pincurchin, Passimian, Escavalier, Accelgor, Oranguru, and more to Max Raid Battles. The Pokémon Collection Guide available in Japan also includes codes that lead to Stonjourner and Eiscue Max Raid Battles.

● Marvelous re-released the Prototype Arsenal and Prototype Suit in DAEMON X MACHINA which were previously available as the early purchase benefit and are now priced at ¥1,100.

● Bandai Namco Entertainment will update GOD EATER 3 to Version 2.50 on March 26 adding a new Traversing the Past episode for Ein (Soma). Check out the trailer here.

● Square-Enix updated Dragon Quest Builders 2 in Japan to Version 1.73 on Switch & Steam and Version 1.17 on PlayStation 4. fixing a bug where furniture with decorated photos would become invalid in other users’ islands.

● Behaviour Interactive updated Dead by Daylight to Version 3.6.1 with a number of balance and bug fixes detailed in this post.

● New Switch game announcements for next week (March 26) include the 2D fighting game Chaos Code: New Sign of Catastrophe priced at ¥980, the 2D platform game Wenjia priced at ¥780, the FMV game The Shapeshifting Detective priced at ¥1,840, the motorbike racing game Moto Rush GT priced at ¥1,599

● The week after (April 2) sees the platform game Octahedron priced at ¥1,500 newly announced.

● This week’s Japanese Switch demos are Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince, Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King, Trials of Mana, and Moving Out.

● Games that shadow dropped on the Japanese Switch eShop today were the jump-action game CRAYON SHINCHAN The Storm Called FLAMING KASUKABE RUNNER!! priced at ¥1,200 and the pinball Touchdown Pinball priced at ¥300. ● An incredible Arc System Works flash sale on the Japanese Switch eShop has seven Switch games available for just 100 yen (less than $1!). Check out the full list here.

● Collavier will be removing 5x 3DS and 3x DSiWare Sanrio Coloring Book games from the Japanese 3DS eShop on March 25 with the full list posted here and including Hello Kitty, Little Twin Stars, My Melody, Cinnamoroll, and Pompompurin titles.

Dr. Mario World added stages 501 through 520 with a clear reward including Dr. Fire Luigi. The game also saw the return of both the Collect Clear Stars! and Flying ? Blocks events. Full set of rewards posted here.

Dragalia Lost will see an interlude added to main campaign Chapter 12: Destruction and Domination on March 23.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw Bound Hero Battle: Edelgard & Dimitri with the two joined by Claude in a summoning focus. The Masking Dragons map was also added to Tactics Drills: Skill Studies.

Mario Kart Tour will see the Hammer Bro Tour begin next week (March 25) which presumably will add Hammer Bro as a playable character.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons pre-order points on Comgnet are currently 785 (Final Fantasy VII Remake is second place with 247 points).

Nintendo Co., Ltd. (7974.T) stock increased today by +1,720 (4.84%) in Japan to close trading for the day at 37,230.00 JPY.
