Tuesday Update:Coral-Coloured Nintendo Switch Lite Announced, Plus More News!

● Nintendo announced a coral coloured Nintendo Switch Lite coming to Japan and North America on March 20. Pre-orders open in Japan on March 7. No European announcement at time of posting. More pictures posted here.

● Also opening on March 7 are pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition console and carrying case. It was of-course originally planned for February 8 but saw a delay due to the coronavirus.

Japan is possibly on the brink of recession due to the economy contracting by 1.6% in the fourth quarter of 2019, the biggest since the second quarter of 2014. There have now been 519 coronavirus cases in Japan with the interconnectedness between China and the world’s economy having an inherent knock-on effect.

Nintendo Co., Ltd. stock is now at its lowest level in almost four months. Switch hardware (not the Lite) is still out of stock at the My Nintendo Store in Japan, although hardware shortages are not expected in the west for at least a few weeks where this story could become much more of a story.

● Atlus Communications Manager Ari Advincula spoke with IGN saying “I am a strong believer in ‘never ever give up on hope’” with regards to bringing Persona 5 to Switch while encouraging fans to “keep telling us what you want”.

● Atlus also gave rules regarding sharing Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers content with players needing to use the official share features from the console, spoilers must be clearly marked, and no endgame sharing whatsoever.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been updated in some reasons adding more graphical settings, touch control support, and save file integration with Steam and other regions.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 will include a Treasure Log mode and Captain Tsubasa: Rise of the Champions will have a Story mode.

● Merge Games announced that they will also be bringing the third-person adventure game Spirit of the North to Japan on both Switch and Steam.

● Konami will release the Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution update this Spring (when the game comes to PS4, Steam, and XB1) adding more cards and characters, along with the new Master Rule.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw All Aflutter Butterfly Goals event featuring common and purple butterflies. The big reward is Eloise’s Flapjack Cookie. A Twitter photo challenge also began with the hashtags #ACPCCafe and #ポケ森カフェ.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw a Grand Hero Battle with Heath: Wandering Knight plus Bound Hero Battle: Ephraim & Myrrh and subsequent summoning event. The eight A Hero Rises 2020 online vote winners were also announced (and listed here).

Shironeko Project updated to Version 2.24.0 changing the touch control operation due to Colopl’s ongoing legal patent dispute with Nintendo. Promo video posted here.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons pre-order points on Comgnet are currently 212 (Final Fantasy VII Remake is second place with 184 points).

Nintendo Co., Ltd. (7974.T) stock decreased today by -210 (0.52%) in Japan to close trading for the day at 39,790.00 JPY.
