Thursday Update:Nintendo Apologise For Switch Shortages in Japan Due to Coronavirus, Plus More News!

● Nintendo today issues an apology for shortages to Nintendo Switch consoles, peripherals, and Ring Fit Adventure in Japan due to the coronavirus infection. Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition console and carrying cases have also been postponed (the game will not be however).

● Nintendo opened up the My Nintendo Store page for Animal Crossing: New Horizons confirming the game won’t support cloud saves or data transferring to another console. A workaround will come post launch for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers if their console is damaged, lost, or stolen.

● Two Switch games were postponed today with Kadokawa Games hpushing back METAL MAX Xeno Reborn from March 26 to July 9, and Koei Tecmo Games moving the FAIRY TAIL RPG from March 20 to June 25.

● Kakehashi Games’ first published title will be the physical version of Enter the Gungeon, which launches on April 23 for ¥3,828 and comes with guidebook and stickers. Check out the box art here.

Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 – The Official Video Game added Sport Climbing, the climbers Akiyo Noguchi and Tomoa Narasaki, the sprinter Aska Cambridge, and a fourth demo.

● Kadokawa Games announced that LoveR Kiss has gone gold and will release for both Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan on February 27.

● Toxtricity will be added to Pokémon Sword / Shield‘s Max Raid Battles from February 7 to March 9.

GOD EATER 3 updated to Version 2.40 adding new Traversing the Past episodes for Keith and Neal with the trailers for both here.

Taiko no Tatsujin Nintendo Switch Version! will be adding the Vocaloid Song Pack Vol.4 with five Vocaloid songs for ¥550 and the Weathering with You Theme Song Pack with three Weathering with You songs for ¥440 on February 13. Screens posted here.

● Bandai Namco Entertainment will also be adding both Camie Utsushima and Seiji Shishikura to My Hero One’s Justice 2 as per the latest issue of Weekly Jump magazine.

● Oizumi Amuzio updated the packaged version of Stardew Valley to Version 1.4.4, although there are no patch notes available at this time.

● Hamster announced another batch of Arcade Archives titles for Switch with the Konami shoot ’em up Salamander, another Konami shooter Flak Attack, a Jaleco shooter Formation Z, and the Nintendo’s VS. Mahjong game.

● Izanagi Games announced that Death Come True will launch digitally for Switch, PS4, PC, iOS, and Android this June priced at ¥1,900. Third trailer posted here.

● Entergram announced they are porting Tonari ni Kanojo no Iru Shiawase Summer Surprise to Switch and PlayStation 4 on May 28 priced at ¥1,980 on the Switch eShop. PS4 will see a physical version.

● Rising Win Tech. published Rolling Sky 2 on the Japanese Switch eShop on February 6 priced at ¥1,450. Check out this week’s full eShop line-up here.

● Annapurna Interactive will also be publishing the Florence on the Japanese Switch eShop next week (February 13, 2020) priced at ¥700

● After announcing Little Racer yesterday, Beeo also announced that Deadlings will be coming to the Japanese Switch eShop “soon”.

● PLAYISM are localising Everything on the Japanese Switch eShop on February 13 for ¥1,480. Japanese trailer posted here.

● Starsign are also localising Super Tennis Blast on the Japanese Switch eShop on February 13 for ¥1,200. Japanese trailer posted here.

● Thomas Moon Kang announced that One Step From Eden will also be coming to the Japanese Switch eShop within a couple of months. Trailers posted here.

● The Bridge Constructor Portal Portal Proficiency DLC is now available for ¥500 adding 30 new levels and you can now place the portals in the new test chambers yourself. Trailer posted here.

● This week’s Japanese Switch demos are Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers from Atlus, Sword Art Online Fatal Bullet COMPLETE EDITION from Bandai Namco Entertainment, Voxel Pirates from SAT-BOX, and Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 – The Official Video Game from Sega Games.

● And this week’s preloads are Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix for ¥6,580, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 for ¥8,580, Senri no Kifu ~Gendai Shogi Mystery~ for ¥3,000, and Everything for ¥1,480. Animal Crossing: New Horizons preloads open on February 8.

Dr. Mario World saw Versus mode season 2 begin adding Tier 8 with 100 x doc tokens as the reward. A 24 hour special sale on hearts also went live.

Fire Emblem Heroes updated to Version 4.2.0 where Aether Raids and Aether Resort have been updated and new weapon skills and weapons to refine have been added. Full patch notes posted here. The Feh Pass subscription service is now live. Today also saw Defeat 1,000 Foes Quests. Tomorrow will see Special Heroes: Lovely Gifts featuring Faye: Drawn Heartstring, Rudolf: Emperor of Rigel, Conrad: Unmasked Knight, and Alm: Lovebird Duo. Trailer posted here.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons topped the Famitsu Most Wanted charts for the 12th consecutive week with Ushiro still number one in the Newcomers chart. Check out the full Nintendo-only charts here.
