In relevant news from Nintendo’s Nine Months Earnings Release for the nine month period ending December 31, 2019: Net sales were 1,022.6 billion yen ($9.39 billion), up 2.5%. Nintendo Switch hardware sold 17.74 million units (a 22.5% increase on a year-on-year basis) and 123.13 million software units (30.1% increase on a year-on-year basis) with 16 games being million sellers for the nine month period.
Nintendo 3DS hardware sales were 0.62 million units (a 73.0% decrease on a year-on-year basis), while software sales were 4.10 million units (a 63.0% decrease on a year-on-year basis).
Digital sales (downloadable versions of packaged software, download-only software, add-on content, and Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions) rose to 124.9 billion yen ($1.15 billion), a 48.3% increase on a year-on-year basis. This includes Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS content.
Mobile, IP related income reached 36.9 billion yen ($339.0 million), a 10.6% increase on a year-on-year basis. This includes Fire Emblem Heroes, Dragalia Lost, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Super Mario Run, Dr. Mario World, and Mario Kart Tour, plus revenue from the Pokémon mobile titles.

Playing cards etc revenue for the nine months were 2.23 billion yen ($20.45 million), up 41.85% on a year-on-year basis. Other revenue (including amiibo, Virtual Console and platforms other than Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo Switch) dropped to 10.33 billion yen ($94.90 million), down 81.98% on a year-on-year basis.
