● The Pokémon Company announced Gigantamax Pikachu, Gigantamax Eevee, Gigantamax Meowth, Gigantamax Charizard, and Gigantamax Butterfree for Pokémon Sword/Shield. Check out the official artwork and trailer at this post.

● Dimitri and Bernadette were voted top male and female character respectively in Fire Emblem: Three Houses by the readers of Weekly Famitsu magazine. Check out the top 20 in either category here.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will see a “Hefty Heavyweights” tournament from 18 October. Check out the rules list and the 15 available fighters here.

● Bandai Namco Entertainment will publish the third promo video for SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays on 18 October at 21:00 JST here with over 30 minutes of content!

● Koei Tecmo Games’ upcoming Fairy Tail game will add both Gajeel Redfox and Juvia Lockster as playable characters, include Grand Magic Games and Tartaros arcs, with the story starting from the Hades fight.

● In Hamster news this week: Arcade Archives VS. Castlevania released priced at ¥838 (screenshots here), ACA NEOGEO Samurai Spirits updated adding button remapping, and 10 titles are currently half-price on the eShop (full list here).

● RED FLAG SHIP announced the remaster of the horror adventure game Doukoku Soshite… will be coming to the Japanese Switch eShop on 07 November priced at ¥3,980 with preloads now live.

● Voltage announced the otome visual novel Kissed by the Baddest Bidder (known as “Suite Room de Itazurana Kiss” in Japan) for release on the Switch eShop worldwide in 2019. Japanese trailer posted here.

● Eastasiasoft announced the bullet hell shoot ’em-up game Ghost Blade HD will release on the Japanese Switch eShop next week (24 October) priced at ¥1,500 with preloads now live at 20% off (¥1,200). Japanese trailer posted here.

● Japan finally saw the Makai Senki Disgaea 4 Return (Disgaea 4 Complete +) demo from Nippon Ichi Software, although there’s no English language support.

● Chorus Worldwide’s Super Dodgeball Beats and VASARA Collection are both now available to preload priced at ¥1,280 and ¥1,440 respectively (the regular price of both is ¥1,600). Check out new trailers for each game here and here.

● Other preloads this week include Divinity: Original Sin II – Definitive Edition from Spike Chunsoft for ¥7,722, Flan from Anela Games Studio for ¥1,000, Grisaia no Kajitsu Meikyuu Rakuen Full Package (The Fruit, Labyrinth, and Eden of Grisaia Full Package) from Prototype for ¥6,900, and Eiga Sumikko Gurashi Tobidasu Ehon to Himitsu no Ko Game de Asobou! Ehon no Sekai from Nippon Columbia for ¥5,260.

● Freestyle Games updated Obakeidoro! to Version 1.0.6 with a number of bug fixes detailed here.

● And it’s expected that SEGA AGES SHINOBI will be the next classic title from Sega with more information expected in a few hours. The Switch version adds the new Cabinet Mode.

● HJ Holdings will be removing Hulu from the Japanese Wii U eShop with the service unable from 24 July and a restricted service from 04 February.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw Pop Quiz: Monstrous Mash-up available at Happy Homeroom.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw Special Heroes Revival: Trick or Defeat! featuring Nowi: Eternal Witch, Henry: Happy Vampire, Sakura: Gentle Nekomata and Jakob: Devoted Monster.

Mario Kart Tour saw Part 2 of the Tokyo Tour with Mario (Hakama), Kabuki Dasher, and Full Flight as the spotlight driver, kart, and glider. Check out pictured of both Mario and Dry Bowser here.

Disney Tsum Tsum Festival was the best-selling game in Japan last week with 30,350 units sold. Nintendo Switch hardware was down to 56,680 although these numbers likely saw a negative impact from the country’s recent typhoon. Check out the full top 10 software here.

Weekly Famitsu Issue No.1611 review scores include Little Town Hero with 33/40, Dusk Diver with 32/40, Frederic: Resurrection of Music with 27/40, GIGA WRECKER ALT. with 30/40, and Trüberbrook with 28/40. The full list of review scores have been added here. Please note that the Asdivine Kamura review score (28/40) is not for the Switch version.

● Tokyo’s Yamashiroya toy store will see a Kirby-themed WADO’S TOY SHOP from 01-24 November with an exhibition and goods. Promotional images posted here.

Nintendo Co., Ltd. stock increased today by +10 (0.02%) in Japan to close trading for the day at 40,160.00 JPY.

● A browser app will be coming to PC and mobile in early November for the rest of the year with Pokémon Wild Area Search allowing users to explore the Gala region’s Wild Area with a 360-degree camera with the diorama under the supervision of the acclaimed Amazing JIRO. Images and videos will be available from late October with the first three teaser images available here.
