Thursday Update:Mario Kart Tour is Nintendo’s Fastest Mobile Game Launch, Plus Much More News!

● SensorTower report that Mario Kart Tour is Nintendo’s fastest-ever mobile game launch with 90 million downloads in the first week. Customer spending is only third however (at $12.7 million), although Gold Pass revenue doesn’t go into effect until week three.

Taiko no Tatsujin Nintendo Switch Version! will see both UNDERTALE and Detective Conan DLC packs releasing next week (10 October), each consisting of three songs and each priced at ¥440.

● From this week’s issue of Famitsu with the moon cover: METAL MAX Xeno Reborn is currently 65% complete and Super Robot Taisen X is currently 90% complete.

● Arc System Works have posted a MISTOVER survival guide here.

● The Japanese box art for Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition here.

● Entergram announced they will also be releasing the romance visual novel IxSHETell for Switch on 30 January as a digital only release.

● Mutan revealed that the eShop fighting game Goonya Fighter has surpassed 65,000 sales on the Switch eShop.

● Cosen announced a free update to Panty Party for release this year which will add local multiplayer for up to 4 people including individual and 2VS2 battles, plus other new functions.

Dr. Mario World will add at least Dr. Rosalina (pictured here) in a few hours time and new stages. The game also updated to Version 1.1.1 fixing a text bug.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw Bound Hero Battle Revival: Cherche & Virion and the One Face, Two Fates map added to Tactics Drills: Skill Studies.

● HAL Laboratory announced their second mobile game with Hosuu de Shoubu! ! Kame Sanpo (literally “Game with steps! Turtle walk”) with pre-registration now live in Japan. Check out the promo video (for a better idea of the game than what I can articulate in words) here.

Mario Kart Tour updated to Version 1.0.2 which fixed several bugs in the game.

CONTRA ROGUE CORPS has been both a commercial and critical failure selling just 1,687 physical copies on Nintendo Switch in its opening week and just 1,260 on PlayStation 4. Pokémon Sword/Shield returned to the top of the Nintendo-only Famitsu Most Wanted charts with Ushiro cemented on the Newcomers chart. Check out the full list here.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will see some in-store trial events with Tsutaya Nagasaki on 05 October, LalaPort Expocity on 12-13 October, and Yodobashi Camera Osaka on 02-03 November.

Nintendo Co., Ltd. stock dropped today by -690 (1.68%) in Japan to close trading for the day at 40,490.00 JPY.

● Forever Entertainment announced they are remaking both The House of the Dead and The House of the Dead 2 for undisclosed platforms.

● XSEED Games announced that Corpse Party: Blood Drive cis coming to Switch and PC on 10 October.

● Nintendo Sales Co., Ltd. announced the second wave of Super Mario Home & Party Goods for release on 29 November including Yoshi Oven Mitts and Mario & Luigi Mug Covers. Check out the full list pictured here.

● Nintendo Co., Ltd. applied for four new Ring Fit Adventure trademarks in Japan with the game’s name in English, Japanese, and Chinese, and also for Ring-Con. Check out the actual applications here.
