Thursday Update:Dragalia Lost × Mega Man, Mario Kart Tour Breaks Records, Kirby and Zelda Trademarks, Plus More News!

● Cygames announced that the Nintendo published mobile game Dragalia Lost will see a Mega Man: Chaos Protocol event this Winter (or Rockman: Isekai no Kessen!! as it’s known in Japan). This is the second collaboration for the game (the first being Fire Emblem Heroes), and the first outside of Nintendo.

● Two different reports both have Mario Kart Tour as the most successful launch day mobile game to date as per downloads, with Sensor Tower reporting over 20 million and global spending over $1 million. It’s a long race however, but a great early start for Nintendo’s most high profile mobile release.

● Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed Boku no Academia One’s Justice 2 (My Hero: One’s Justice 2) for Switch from Bandai Namco Entertainment, although no release date as of yet. The sequel adds more playable characters, including from season 4 of the anime, with Overhaul the first confirmed.

● Koei Tecmo Games announced that the Atelier Dusk Trilogy (Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk DX, Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky DX, and Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea DX) will release on 25 December priced at ¥5,184 each or ¥14,904 for a Premium Box with all three games.

● Arc System Works newly announced that Mistover will see a retail release in Japan on 23 January (the digital is set for 10 October). Check out the packaged version contents here with artwork by Yuki Kato (BlazBlue). A second demo also launched today.

● Marvelous revealed new updates and DLC plans for DAEMON X MACHINA including a Battle Mode coming on 10 October, collaborative costumes in early November, new bosses in late November, and new co-op play in December. Check out the full translation here.

● In new information from Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: the game will add playable guest characters including Rosalina (Surfing), Doctor Eggman Nega (Karate), Rouge the Bat (Climbing), Diddy Kong (Rugby), Larry Koopa (Equestrian), Zazz (Table Tennis), Ludwig von Koopa (Fencing), and Jet the Hawk (Soccer).

● Bandai Namco Entertainment will deliver a major update to Ninja Box this Fall adding the “Infiltration” mode where you can upload your own base online and infiltrate others’ bases. The second season of the web anime was also announced. Check out the teaser trailer here.

● Bandai Namco Entertainment’s upcoming puzzle game Kotoba no Puzzle Mojipittan Encore is only 40% complete. It’s scheduled for early 2020.

● The Nintendo release calendar lists 3909 LLC’s puzzle game Return of the Obra Dinn as both a packaged and download version this Fall.

● Granzella’s newly released Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories saw collaboration costumes with the TV anime revisions today.

● And Square-Enix’s Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition saw launch DLC costumes as a free download.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw Jack’s Ghoulish Gala garden event and the Happy Hauntings Holiday seasonal event both begin, as well as new Eerieville terrain options. Check out images for all three here.

Dr. Mario World saw a new Virus Event today along with a new Log-In Bonus. Plans for the Version 1.1 update will display more in-game information, new balance adjustments, new rewards, and new animations. See more details here.

Dragalia Lost will soon see a Version 1.12.0 update (it’s been delayed, at least on iOS), with the full patch notes here. Gala Dragalia begins in a few hours with a guaranteed 5★ Gala Dragalia adventurer (Prince, Cleo, Mym, Ranzal, or Sarisse), The next Summon Showcase, Fractured Futures also begins on 04 October.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw Summoning Focus: Heroes with Fierce Stance begin featuring Zelgius: Jet-Black General, Kana: Dragon Princess, and Dorcas: Serene Warrior. Two new Tactics Drills maps are detailed here.

● Check out this week’s full Nintendo-only software and hardware charts here with four new Switch entries including The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening as number one, and Switch hardware having its best week all year.

● This week’s Nintendo-only Famitsu Most Wanted (posted here) saw Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition reclaim the top spot after three weeks of Pokémon.

Nintendo Co., Ltd. stock rebounded slightly after it’s huge drop yesterday by +140 (0.35%) in Japan to close trading for the day at 40,660.00 JPY.

● Nintendo Co., Ltd. applied for new trademarks for both the Super Famicom games KIRBY’S DREAM COURSE and A LINK TO THE PAST. They’re likely just Nintendo Switch Online related, but it’s interesting that as well as including the smartphone category, they also newly include arcade. Dragon Quest X director Chikara Saito is developing a new original game for consoles. The Dragon Quest also made several mentions of Dragon Quest XII, in today’s livestream, although nothing tangible.

● Sega Games tweeted a poll over what if they were to make another Monkey Ball game? The choices are remake of 1 and 2, remake of 3DS and Vita, an adventure remake, or a new entry.
