● Nintendo announced paid DLC for the upcoming Luigi’s Mansion 3 game for Nintendo Switch with additional content to the ScareScraper and ScreamPark. The game is also available to preload price at ¥6,458 and requiring 6.3 GB.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is now available in Japan (on the eShop at least). Check out our review here and an advert from this week’s issue of Weekly Famitsu here.

● Nintendo will be updating Splatoon 2 to Version 5.0.1 around 10 October fixing bugs with the Ultra Stamp and Starfish Mainstage, but there will be no balance patches this time around.

● Sega updated Tokyo 2020 Olympics The Official Video Game adding Rugby and the Top Athlete Challenge Mode. A second demo is also available until 14 November where 110m hurdles, 200m individual medley, and boxing are playable.

● Regista will begin a Kickstarter on 30 September for a Switch version, English localisation, and physical version of the Compass of Dei Gratia – On the Fifth Day- game.

● The latest character added to Musou OROCHI3 Ultimate (Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate) is Yang Jian from the Fengshen Yanyi PlayStation game.

● PochiStudio announced they are porting the retro roguelike RPG Ayakashi Gensokyo to Nintendo Switch shortly. Check out a promo video for the mobile version here.

● The 2D action platformer Steel Assault will be coming to Japan if Sri Kankanahalli can find a publisher. Check out videos here and here.

● And the Case Closed skateboard game Meitantei Conan Skateboard Run Kaitou Kid to Shinpi no Hihou has been permanently reduced on the Japanese Switch eShop from ¥3,500 to ¥1,999. Check out a new promo video here.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw Truffle Scavenger Hunt begin. Check out our huge post with all the featured items here including an adorable gif of Apple on the truffle trampoline!

Dragalia Lost saw the Summon Showcase: Dragon Special begin (featured dragons Liger, Cupid, and Nidhogg here), High Zodiark’s Trial added to Advanced Dragon Trials in Dragalia Lost, and the first-anniversary countdown bonus.

Dr. Mario World added stages 261-280 with a Staff Ticket as the clear reward. The Collect Clear Stars event also returned where clearing 60 x Stars will earn you 3 x Score Boost and 1 x Staff Ticket.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw New Heroes: The Chosen Ones begin featuring Phina: Roving Dancer, Sirius: Mysterious Knight, Norne: The Volunteer, and Nagi: Dragon Avatar. Artwork and videos posted here. Forging Bonds: A Time to Shine also began featuring Nagi and Sirius, along with a New Tactics Drills map. Full details here.

● Check out this week’s full Nintendo-only software and hardware charts here with DAEMON X MACHINA opening at #1 selling 28,149, a new entry for AMNESIA for Nintendo Switch selling 1,462, and Super Mario Odyssey surpassing the 2 million mark in physical sales alone.

● This week’s Famitsu Most Wanted (posted here) saw Pokémon Sword/Shield at number one for the third consecutive week with only Animal Crossing: New Horizons as realistic competition once the Dragon Quest XI S and Link’s Awakening launch!

Nintendo Co., Ltd. stock increased again today by +70 (0.17%) in Japan to close trading for the day at 42,460.00 JPY and is again the new highest level for almost 16 months, since just before last year’s E3 on 30 May 2018.

● Three new Nintendo Co., Ltd. patent applications this week including one to solve the problem where children can oversee inputted password in software such as Nintendo Switch Parental Controls (more details posted here), one to solve collision determination in games with acute angled images such as Super Mario Maker 2 (more details here), and what appears to be almost identical to last week’s Semiconductor Power Device patent (last week’s post here).

Nippon Ichi Software posted the second video on the a teaser website for the mystery new title.
