Monday Update:Dr. Daisy, Pokémon, BlazBlue, Captain Toad, The Legend of Dark Witch, And More News!

Nintendo’s latest smartphone release Dr. Mario World will receive its first major content update this week almost a month into its launch with three doctors including Dr. Daisy and 20 new stages to be added to the game.

● The Pokémon Company announced information for Pokémon Sword/Shield will arrive on Wednesday 07 August at 06:00 PT (09:00 ET, 14:00 BST, 15:00 CET, and 22:00 JST).

BLAZBLUE CROSS TAG BATTLE will be updated to Version 2.0 on 21 November adding nine new characters including Akatsuki and Blitztank from Akatsuki Blitzkampf, Yumi from Senran Kagura, and Neo Politan from RWBY. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is currently free for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers until 11 August in Japan with the game also currently 25% off (¥3,844 instead of ¥5,162).

● Inside System announced a new Majin Shoujo (The Legend of Dark Witch) series title for worldwide release for Nintendo Switch in the Fall. The series celebrates its fifth anniversary on 06 August.

● Sega Games announced that the puzzle game SEGA AGES Columns II will release on the Japanese Switch eShop this week (08 August) priced at ¥999. Check out this week’s confirmed line-up here.

● Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for Nintendo Switch Lite has been delayed to further improve the quality. Previously it was planned for release on 07 August. No word on a new date.

Dragon Quest Rivals will see its 8th cards pack called “Ikkaku Senkin!Casino Paradise” arrive on 22 August. Promo video posted here.

● Chorus Worldwide announced that the Japanese Switch version of Vambrace: Cold Soul has gone gold. It’s expected to release on 29 August.

● In the latest Network Maintenance Information: the Nintendo Switch/3DS/Wii U eShops will be down for maintenance from 03:00-09:00 JST on 06 August.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw Phoebe’s Fiery Cookie newly stocked. Check out the full list of items, special memory, and introduction video here.

Dragalia Lost saw the Mercury’s Trial double drops event where drop rewards you can obtain from Mercury’s Trial will be doubled.

Dr. Mario World was also updated to Version 1.0.4 which implements bug fixes, balance adjustments, and feature improvements.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw Summoning Focus: Heroes with Savage Blow Skills (featuring Camilla: Bewitching Beauty, Leo: Sorcerous Prince, and Rhajat: Black Magician) and Daily Summoning Event: Cooldown Bonuses (featuring Mia: Lady of Blades, Ike: Brave Mercenary, and Nephenee: Fierce Halberdier) both begin today. Wednesday will see New Heroes: Changing Winds (featuring Hilda: Idle Maiden, Hubert: Sinister Servant, Mercedes: Kindly Devotee, and Petra: Princess of Brigid). Introduction video posted here.

Pokémon GO will see increased spawns of Poliwags from 06 August including Shiny Poliwags. Pikachu wearing various hats will also start spawning.

● In COMG! rankings: Pokémon Sword/Shield pre-orders are now at 211 pts. Fire Emblem: Three Houses is number one in both COMG! and TSUTAYA with 53 pts at the former. Omega Labyrinth Life was #10 at COMG! with 7 pts and 12 at TSUTAYA. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled was #16 with TSUTAYA but didn’t chart with COMG! GEO have Fire Emblem at #1, Tsuri Spirits Nintendo Switch Version at #2, and Super Mario Maker 2 at #3. (sources: COMG! TSUTAYA, and GEO).

Nintendo Co., Ltd. shares dropped today by -960 (2.38%) in Japan to close trading for the day at 39,330.00 JPY.

● Mexico’s MK Leo was the winner of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament at EVO 2019 int he finals which included three Japanese players. Tweek from the U.S. was runner up. The finals also set the record for the highest peak viewership in EVO history for any game with over 279,000 people tuned in.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses scored its second number one spot in this week’s UK charts. Other first party games in the top 10 are: Super Mario Maker 2 at #5, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at #7, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at #9.

● A Pokémon Center London pop-up shop will be open at Westfield from 18 October to 15 November.

● Arc System Works announced both NEW GUILTY GEAR and UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Late[cl-r] at EVO 2019 for 2020 release although no platforms were announced. Check out trailers for both here.
