Huge news for two of Nintendo’s mobile games today with the release of Dr. Mario World a day early in many parts of the world and perhaps the most ambitious crossover to date for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp with several Sanrio crossover events and items coming to the game later on this week…

Dr. Mario World begins with only Dr. Mario of the game’s 10 doctors playable. None of the games 32 assistants are electable at start-up. Within an hour of play, players will get to select either Dr. Mario, Dr. Peach, or Dr. Bowser (pick wisely as the other two are behind the game’s gacha paywall) and have Goomba as an assistant. The game plays differently than traditional Dr. Mario (bottom to top) but is perfectly suited to mobile. Unfortunately the game’s gacha mechanics will likely turn off a lot of players. Read our report from the first couple of hours of gameplay and the available characters here.
