Thursday Update:Mario Tennis Aces News, Ninja Gaiden And Witch & Hero Announced, Plus Much More!

● Apologies for this update missing out a lot of news today as my original Pages document corrupted and I lost about 1,500 words and the html formatting! Here is the second, much shorter, take!

Mario Tennis Ace will be updated to Version 2.3.0 at 10:00 JST on 01 March (17:00 PT on 28 February) adding Pauline to the March Online Tournament playable roster (trailer here) and the new Co-op Challenge, Shy Guy Train Tussle with blue, green, and yellow Shy Guys (pictured here)! The bonus play costume for the March Online Tournament will be Chain Chomp with a hat (pictured here). I won’t be posting a separate post when the update is live so check out the patch notes in Japanese here and English here. Kamek and Dry Bones (both pictured here) were also announced for April and May.

Splatoon 2 will see an update in mid-March although will only be balance adjustments and big fixes, with no new content to be added this time.

● SilverStar Japan announced that they will publish the animal shogi game Minna no Doubutsu Shogi in Japan on 23 May 2019 priced at ¥5,184 for the physical version or ¥4,665 for the digital. Box art and introduction videos posted here.

● Idea Factory announced that they will publish the Otomate visual novel games Hanayaka Nari, Waga Ichizoku Modern Nostalgie for Nintendo Switch on 16 May priced at ¥6,804 and Hanayaka Nari, Waga Ichizoku Gentou Nostalgie for Nintendo Switch on 20 June priced at ¥7,344.

Fortnite Season 8 arrived today with new weapons, locations, limited time modes, and a volcanic theme. Check out a couple of trailers (and patch notes) at this post.

● The Vocaloid Song Pack 2 DLC will release for Taiko no Tatsujin Nintendo Switch Version! on 07 March priced at ¥540 featuring five new vocaloid tracks and the character, Mirai Komachi.

● The mystery Tecmo game from the Arcade Archiver livestream a couple of weeks ago was revealed to be Arcade Archives Ninja Ryukenden (Ninja Gaiden), which is expected to release within the next few weeks. The other new Arcade Archives announcements were Image Fight, Elevator Action, Butasan, Karate Dou, and Psycho Soldier.

● In news from today’s Flyhigh Express: the 8-bit style action game Majo to Yuusha (Witch & Hero) will release on the Japanese Switch eShop in March, the strategy RPG Slime Tactics will release in April, and the 2D platform shooter Mechstermination Force will release this Spring.

● Preloads are now live for biohazard 0 HD REMASTER, biohazard HD REMASTER, and biohazard 4 on the Japanese Switch eShop, priced at ¥3,300 each, and requiring 13.6 GB, 16.2 GB, and 12.0 GB respectively.

● Check out this week’s current list of Nintendo Switch eShop sales at this post, and which includes the newly added PEACH BALL Senran Kagura today (10% off), and also saw Urban Trial Playground Deluxe Edition yesterday (70% off).

● Bandai Namco US announced that the service for the online treasure-hunting action game LOST REAVERS will end on 30 May 2019 with no in-game purchase available from 28 March. It’s not been confirmed worldwide, but is expected.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw the Viva Festivale with Pavé garden event and Shamrock Shimmy seasonal event both begin (images posted here). Also announced for mid-March is Fishing Tourney #12: Super Mario, which sees Cheep Cheep at Saltwater Shores!

Dragalia Lost saw both the A Waltz with Fate raid event and the Summon Showcase, Thunder and Splendor both begin. Check out some of the featured adventurers, dragons, and wyrmprints detailed at this post.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw Voting Gauntlet: War of the Tacticians begin with Katarina vs Lewyn, Morgan vs Saias, Cecilia vs Jagen, and Innes vs Soren in round one.

● A second Doubutsu no Mori Lottery begins in Japan on 16 March at 7-Eleven and Ito-Yokado store where ¥620 could net you a clock, coffee server set, lunch bag, lunch box, design towels, zipper bags, rubber keychains, apron, or jigsaw puzzle! Pictures for all prizes posted here.
