Early Update:Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Update Adds Major New Happy Homeroom Feature!

● Please note that this is the first of two updates today. The second will cover the Pokémon Direct, Media Create charts, the Switch eShop update at midnight JST, and whatever else news breaks!

● A Hard ‘n’ Heavy Metal event was announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate beginning this Friday featuring Legend-class spirits Mecha-Fiora and Ness’s Father, Ace-class spirit Metal Mario, and many more detailed here.

● Idea Factory announced the Otomate visual novel Moujuutsukai to Ouji-sama ~Flower & Snow~ for Nintendo Switch for 30 May release, priced at ¥7,344 for the standard edition and ¥9,504 for the limited edition. Promo video posted here.

● Level-5 have moved Inazuma Eleven: Ares no Tenbin from Spring 2019 to a general ‘2019′ release window. The next Inazuma Walker broadcast is scheduled for 01 March at 21:00 JST (which will air on YouTube and niconico) and will include the latest gameplay trailer.

● Flyhigh Works announced a Flyhigh Express livestream for tomorrow at 22:00 JST covering Cytus α in the first part (YouTube link here) with the second part (YouTube link here) likely covering other games. I’ll try and fire up my schedule to live blog.

● Online rankings in Umihara Kawase Fresh! will not require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

● The only Hamster title releasing this week is the soccer game ACA NEOGEO Tokuten Ou – Honoo no Libero (The Ultimate 11: SNK Football Championship). Announced for next week (07 March) is the action shooting game Arcade Archives IKARI (Ikari Warriors). Both titles are priced at the usual ¥823/$7.99/€6.99/£6.29.

● In an update to yesterday’s post: VASARA Collection will be download only in Japan.

● Double Drive will localise Zombies Mansion overseas under the new title of Undead’s Building. Check out the teaser website for the Japanese release.

● Chorus Worldwide said that production is now complete on Bombslinger and a release date announcement is expected soon. Check out the trailer here.

● Hamster updated Arcade Archives ICE CLIMBER to Version 1.0.1, but I’m unsure what the update entailed.

● The Doraemon: Nobita no Getsumen Tansaki 2 theme (Doraemon: Nobita’s Chronicle of the Moon Exploration) has been added to the Japanese 3DS Theme Shop published by FuRyu, priced at ¥200, and is pictured here.

● In other Doraemon news: FuRyu have now removed both Doraemon: Nobita no Nankyoku Kachikochi Daibouken and Doraemon: Shin Nobita no Nippon Tanjou from the Japanese 3DS eShop.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp updated to Version 2.2.0 today adding the major new Happy Homeroom feature (which unlocks the Golden Series furniture), changed the app icon, plus much more all detailed at this post (along with the new ‘Decorate your dream campsite’ and ‘Our top 20 updates’ videos). Today also saw the (pictured) Spring into Style Collection and new new Fairy Forest terrain options. Full details (and prices) at this post.

Dragalia Lost will see a new Summon Showcase, Thunder and Splendor begin tomorrow. I’ll prepare a separate post as soon as I’ve finished with this update!

Fire Emblem Heroes saw Legendary Hero Roy: Blazing Lion arrive for a Legendary Hero Summoning Event and Legendary Hero Battle. Introductory video posted here and official artwork posted here.

● Nintendo Co., Ltd. applied for a new MELMETAL trademark in Japan for purposes related to videogames and merchandising (everything from key chains to hand mirrors to textile toilet seat covers and to meat pies!). Check out the actual application here.

Weekly Famitsu Issue No. 1578 review scores included Tangledeep with 30/40, YIIK: A Postmodern RPG with 28/40, The Stillness of the Wind with 30/40, YUMENIKKI -DREAM DIARY- with 28/40, and Buriki no Kishi (Feudal Alloy) with 30/40.

Famitsu Digital Estimates for 31 December – 27 January have Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with 128,439, Futari de!Nyanko Daisensou with 96,781, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe with 45,955, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with 31,660, Super Mario Party with 24,088, and Minecraft with 20,787.

Nintendo Co., Ltd. shares increased by +2.82% today to close trading at ¥31,330.00, the highest level this month.

● The EVO 2019 line-up includes Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat 11, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, Soul Calibur VI, Samurai Shodown, and UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Late. It takes place from 02-04 August in Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nevada. Super Smash Bros. Melee has finally been dropped.
