● The Kong Family Reunion event is now live in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and sees spirits from the Donkey Kong series on the Spirit Board including Legend-class spirits Donkey Kong & Lady and Kaptain K. Rool, Ace-class spirit Rambi and more (full list here). Version 2.0.1 is also now live and fixes an issue where an adventure challenge featuring King K. Rool could not be completed.

● The five free Main Power Up drink tickets from the Splatoon 2 Squid Research Lab Report News channel (see this post for more) should now be available in all regions!

● A Destructive Cannon Group Match was announced for 08-10 March in Pokkén Tournament DX. The Forest’s Flash Group Match is also now live.

● Nintendo opened up a webpage today looking at Cat Games on Nintendo Switch!

● Kemco announced the JRPG Sora no Folklore (Bonds of the Skies) will release on the Japanese Switch eShop (likely worldwide) in the near future. Promo video posted here.

● Kogado Studio announced the 2011 PSP visual novel Hakuisei Renai Shoukougun (White Robe Love Syndrome) will release on the Japanese Switch eShop this April.

● Mebius announced the shoot ‘em up Rolling Gunner will release on the Japanese Switch eShop next week (28 February) priced at ¥2,480. Screenshots posted here.

● Arc System Works announced some new features in the upcoming Kunio-kun game Downtown Rantou Koushinkyoku Mach!! (which we previously reported about) including a new Bamboo Shoot item where players increase in size, a new Change Match mode where you can change characters during battle, and a Team Edit feature.

● Shinobu will join Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes in the Vol. 1: Black Dandelion DLC, which arrives next week (28 February), priced at ¥432, and includes the new Badman Strikes Back Adventure. Screenshots posted here.

● Koei Tecmo Games said that the Lulua no Atelier ~Arland no Renkinjutsushi4 (Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland) demo will not be available in other countries before launch and is restricted to this week’s issue of Weekly Famitsu (it was also temporarily, and erroneously, published on the Japanese Switch eShop earlier this week).

● And check out this week’s Nintendo eShop charts here with Final Fantasy IX debuting at number one on Switch and Link’s Awakening DX re-entering at number three on 3DS.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw new Arena Quests. Meet the conditions to earn Orbs, Hero Feather, or other rewards! Tomorrow sees Summoning Focus: Heroes with Blazing Light.

● The next Pokémon GO Community Day will be on 23 March and features Treecko.

Nintendo Co., Ltd. announced at a board meeting today that it will buy back up to 1 million shares (0.83% of the total) for up to 33 billion yen ($298 million) in order to “implement a flexible capital policy in accordance with changes in the business environment”.

Dengeki data have Victor Vran Overkill Edition as selling 1,031 copies in Japan during its opening week.

Nintendo Co., Ltd. shares increased by +0.42% today to close trading for the week at ¥30,030.00.

● The Pokémon World Championships will run from 16-18 August at the Walter E Washington Convention Center.

● Square Enix have applied for new trademarks in Japan for COLLECTION OF MANA and SECRET OF MANA intimating further that the Seiken Densetsu Collection may well release overseas.

● Bandai Namco Entertainment applied for a ブラッドの覚醒 trademark in Japan which translates to Blood no Kakusei or Blood Awakens in English. The trademark includes for program for home videogame machine.

● And Neos (who recently announced Puru Chara Friends Hoppe-Chan to Sanrio Characters for Nintendo Switch) have applied for a trademark in Japan for ぶるきゃら (literally ‘Bull’s Eye’), again for videogame purposes.
