● Please note this is our second daily update today. If you want to read our first update then go to this post. I’ve also been awake for 27 hours straight, so please forgive any typos!

● The headline game in Nintendo’s first Direct of 2019 was a remake of the classic Game Boy game Link’s Awakening, known as Zelda no Densetsu: Yume o Miru Shima in Japan. The game is confirmed for 2019 release with footage added here.

● Nintendo’s second big new announcement was Super Mario Maker 2 which releases in June 2019 and promises plenty of new features. Check out the trailer here.

Fire Emblem: Fuuka Setsugetsu (Fire Emblem: Three Houses) finally received a release date, and slightly later than the original Spring plan with a worldwide launch on 26 July. A limited edition was also announced. The game was also revealed to be co-developed with Koei Tecmo Games. A new five minute trailer posted here.

● It looks like Dragon Quest XI: Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete S really will be the definitive version of the game with the 2D 3DS version being included in the package. The game is also scheduled for Fall 2019 release. check out the latest trailer here.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will receive a Version 3.0.0 update this Spring and Joker added by the end of April. Daisy, Young Link, and Ken amiibo release on 12 April, Pokémon Trainer, Pichu, and Isabelle amiibo release on 19 July, and Squirtle, Ivysaur, Snake, and Simon amiibo release in 2019. ● Marvelous announced Rune Factory 4 Special as coming to Nintendo Switch on 25 July 2019 and also revealed that Rune Factory 5 is in development, with a 2020 release lined-up. Check out the footage here.

● Nintendo’s next first party title Yoshi’s Crafted World (Yoshi Craft World in Japan) received a demo on the eShop straight after the Direct. Check out footage from the game here. The official website has also opened up (here!).

● The next Story of Seasons game is a collaboration with Doraemon with Doraemon Nobita no Bokujou Monogatari planned for 2019 published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Check out the first trailer here.

● Platinum Games and Nintendo announced the Switch exclusive action game ASTRAL CHAIN for 30 August release. A collector’s edition was also announced. Check out the trailer for the game here.

● Nintendo updated Susume! Kinopio Taichou (Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker) to Version 1.1.0 adding co-op play. Paid DLC is also coming on 14 March priced at ¥864 featuring multiple new stages. Check out the trailer here.

● Another Bandai Namco Entertainment announcement was the puzzle/party game Disney Tsum Tsum Festival which releases in 2019. Check out the trailer for this game here.

● I Am Setsuna/Lost Sphear developers Tokyo RPG Factory are developing another JRPG ONINAKI for Summer 2019 release on Nintendo Switch. Check out the trailer here.

DAEMON X MACHINA received a Summer 2019 release date with a DAEMON X MACHINA Prototype Orders demo added to the eShop straight after the Direct. New trailer posted here.

● Konami announced another Switch title with their popular PawaPuro baseball series coming to Switch with Jikkyuu Powerful Pro Yakyuu releasing within 2019. Trailer posted here.

● Behavior Interactive announced the multiplayer horror game Dead By Daylight for Fall 2019 release on Nintendo Switch in what I assume is a retail release. Trailer posted here.

● Two other announcements for Summer 2019 are both MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order from Nintendo and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night from 505 Games.

● Box Boy is back with Hako Boy!& Hako Girl! (BOXBOY! + BOXGIRL!) which releases on the eShop on 26 April and features 270 new levels including select co-op stages. Trailer posted here.

● Square Enix published the popular mobile game Dragon Quest Rivals on the Japanese Switch eShop straight after the Direct as a free download, but with in-app purchases. Check out the trailer here.

● Another game released straight after the Direct was TETRIS 99 developed by Nintendo, and free to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. The game features Battle Royale rules. Check out the trailer here.

● Hachinoyon will publish the UNDERTALE follow-up DELTARUNE Chapter 1 on the Switch eShop on 28 February with basic play free. It’s currently available to preload. Check out the trailer here.

● In more Square-Enix news: they published FINAL FANTASY IX on the eShop straight after the Direct priced at ¥2,500. FINAL FANTASY VII was also given a 26 March release date. Check out a trailer featuring both games and several others here.

● Arc System Works announced another Kunio-kun title for Nintendo Switch (after the collection) with Downtown Rantou Koushinkyoku Mahha!! releasing this Spring.

● The sixth (and next) Sega Ages title is the Mark III/Master System platformer SEGA AGES Alex Kidd in Miracle World which adds a rewind function to make it more friendly to new players. It’s expected within the next few weeks priced at ¥999.

● Coffee Stain’s goat simulation game Goat Simulator: THE GOATY will be received a domestic Japanese release in March.

● Flyhigh Works will be publishing the role playing card game SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech on the Japanese Switch eShop this Spring.

● Humble Bundle will also be bringing the cute 3D platform game A Hat in Time to the Japanese Switch eShop this Spring.

● Regista announced a follow-up to their recent reboot of The Demon Crystal with the unsurprisingly titled The Demon Crystal II. A 2019 release is planned.

● And Chorus Worldwide published a demo for the cinematic adventure game Forgotton Anne on the Japanese Switch eShop with preloads priced at ¥2,980.
