Weekend Update: Dragon Quest XI S Coming To Switch In 2019, Kirby Voted Top Character, Plus More News!

● Square-Enix announced that Dragon Quest XI: Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete S will release for Nintendo Switch next year. International release has yet to be confirmed. The Switch version will be fully voiced (the PS4 was in the west, but not domestically). Check out the teaser website, screenshots and promo video.

● Dragon Quest Builders 2: Hakaishin Shidoo to Karappo no Shima players will receive a free ‘New Year’s Pack’ on 27 December. with zōni, kadomatsu and hagoita. The first paid DLC will be called the ‘Japanese Style Pack’ with lanterns, hanging scrolls, onigiri and more than 20 recipes. Jump Festa video here.
● Akihiro Hino will be hosting a live broadcast on 25 December where he will explain the circumstances behind the Inazuma Eleven: Ares no Tenbin delay.
● Chorus Worldwide will have Forgotton Anne preloads live in the beginning of the year. The game launches on 28 February in Japan.

● Fire Emblem Heroes saw Three Princesses Quests today featuring Sharena: Princess of Askr, Fjorm: Princess of Ice, the princess of Nifl, and Eir: Merciful Death, the princess of Hel. There’s also an update to Special Maps: Rival Domains where this week, you’ll earn a bonus for defeating foes with armoured allies.

● Kirby was once again voted favourite videogame character by the readers of Nintendo DREAM magazine. Check out the top 20 here. I’ll be posting the top 10 female protagonists on Christmas Day!
● Damon Baker announced that he is leaving his position in dealing with third parties for Nintendo of America.
● Matt Makes Games announced that Celeste has sold over 500,000 copies in 2018, although no platform breakdown. The company are also working on some farewell Celeste levels, that are described as “very hard”.
