● The Wall Street Journal report that a new Nintendo Switch model will release in the second half of 2019, perhaps as early as Summer. Hardware and software features are being discussed including improving the display.

● Nintendo announced a worldwide Splatfest for 19-21 October called Splatoween with the theme of Trick or Treat. Several Halloween outfits (pictured here) were also delivered through the Squid Research Lab Bulletin.
● Prototype announced the homoerotic vampiric visual novel game Omega Vampire will be coming to Nintendo Switch in Spring 2019.
● Kairosoft announced Game Hatten-Koku++ (Game Dev Story), Yukemuri Onsen-kyou (Hot Springs Story) and Bouken Dungeon Mura (Dungeon Village) for the Switch eShop on 11 October priced at ¥1,200 each.
● Pocket announced they will be publishing a retail version of Overcooked 2 in Japan on 29 November priced at ¥4,104. Trailer added here.
● Pocket also announced that Kato Hifumi Kudan Kanshuu: Hifumin no Shogi Dojo will release on 20 December priced at ¥5,184 with the game featuring shogi legend Hifumi Kato.
● And Nintendo announced the next batch of Famicom games for the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service will arrive on 10 October with Solomon no Kagi (Solomon’s Key), Mario Open Golf (NES Open Tournament Golf) and Nekketsu Koukou Dodgeball Bu (Super Dodge Ball). Trailer added here.

● Teyon Japan will remove the 2D platformer Turtle Tale: Kameshima Dakkai from the Japanese 3DS eShop on 10 October for undisclosed reasons.

● Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw Muffy’s Creepy Cookie available in the Fortune Cookie Shop and the second half of the Jack’s Halloween Hunt gardening event (finishing graphic here).
● Dragalia Lost saw the co-op Loyalty’s Requiem raid event begin, plus a new Summon Showcase (featuring Lily, Leviathan, Tough Love and Crystalian Envoy). Full details here.
● Fire Emblem Heroes saw Voting Gauntlet: Fathers and Daughters, Summoning Focus: Bound Hero Battle (featuring Ishtar and 2 x Reinhardt), and Summoning Focus: Heroes with Ploy Skills (featuring Deirdre, Lute and Sonya).
● And Super Mario Run saw Weekend Spotlight: Bowser where all items from Remix 10′s Super Bonus Game will all be related to Bowser!

● Nintendo Co., Ltd. applied for a patent in the United States for a Game Boy-style case for capacitative touchscreen devices which presumably would allow you to play Game boy games on your smartphone and/or Switch.

● Nintendo re-entered the Best Global Brands 2018 Rankings for the first time in several years at number 99 and are listed as being worth $4,696m.
● Monolith Soft are ‘urgently’ recruiting many staff for a new RPG project following Xenoblade, Xenoblade X and Xenoblade 2.
● Nintendo Co., Ltd., Creatures Co., Ltd. and Game Freak Inc. have applied for a mysterious new trademark in Japan for Monpoké. Actual trademark added here.
● Imagineer are teasing a Medarot (Medabots) announcement on Medarot Day (28 November), which is the 20th anniversary of the original Game Boy game’s release.
● This week’s Media Create charts saw Musou OROCHI 3 have a great start, particularly on PlayStation 4. Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console for the 29th consecutive week. Full Nintendo charts posted here.
