Wednesday Update With Nintendo Switch Online Subscription Service Launches, Plus Much More News!

● A big day for Nintendo Co., Ltd. as the company launched its Nintendo Switch Online subscription service and saw a second increases (+2.43%) on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The Nintendo Switch saw its Ver.6.0.0. update allowing save data cloud backup for many titles, the ability to upload four photos to social media, six new Captain Toad icons, and more importantly: you can now play digital software on a second Nintendo Switch console. ● Nintendo updated Mario Tennis Ace(s) to Ver.2.0.0 adding the new Co-op Challenge game mode. the Co-op Challenge: Boo Hunt, added voice chat and more.
● Nintendo updated ARMS to Ver.5.4.0 where it is now compatible with the Nintendo Switch Online app, plus there’s some balance adjustments and bug fixes.
● Nintendo also updated Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to Ver.1.7.0 where the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 03: Drive Kit (Vehicle Kit) Car can now be used for racing, plus there’s compatible with the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app.
● From Software released the DARK SOULS REMASTERED NETWORK TEST Ver. on the Switch eShop with online play open from from 21 – 23 September. The full game is also available to preload for ¥4,644.
● Konami updated Super Bomberman R to Ver.2.2 adding a new Civilian rule, three new Castlevania-themed stages and the new Bombers: Alucard, Upa, Mimi, Nyami and Caesar. Update trailer added here.
● 3goo announced that Battle Princess Madelyn will release on 20 December in Japan with a physical version priced at ¥3,456 with the digital at ¥2,376. New gameplay trailer added here.
● El Dia announced the visual novel EVE burst error R for the Switch eShop in October priced at ¥2,980. Opening movie added here.
● PLAYISM announced they will be bringing Astebreed to the Switch eShop (trailer here), Night in the Woods (trailer here), VA-11 Hall-A and N1RV Ann-A (trailers for both added here), WILL -Subarashiki Sekai- (trailer here), and La Mulana 2 will see a physical release in the Spring priced at ¥4,298.
● DANGEN Entertainment announced they will be bringing Astalon: Tears of the Earth to the Switch eShop (trailer here), as well as Devil Engine (trailer here), Renaine (trailer here), Minoria (trailer here), and Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight (trailer here).
● Rainy Frog announced their second animated jigsaws game Ugoku Jigsaw Puzzle: Utsukushiki Josei (Animated Jigsaws: Japanese Women) for the Switch eShop on 04 October priced at ¥999. Announcement trailer added here.
● Worker Bee announced that the puzzle platformer Dream Alone will release on the eShop next week (27 September) priced at ¥1,350. Promo video added here.
● 2K Japan announced the basketball game NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 for the Switch eShop on 16 October priced at ¥3,348. Opening trailer added here.
● Higgs Games announced the casual game Moorhuhn Wanted for the Switch eShop next week (27 September) priced at ¥900. Trailer added here.
● Starsign announced the pinball game Mummy Pinball for the Switch eShop next week (27 September) priced at ¥300.
● This week’s Hamster games are ACA NEOGEO Cyber Lip which is now available, and Arcade Archives Excitebike which arrives tomorrow. Both games are priced at ¥823 each.
● Devolver Digital today published Reigns: Kings & Queens, which includes both Reigns and Reign: Her Majesty, on the Switch eShop priced at ¥760.
● Starsign also today published the darts game Darts UP on the Switch eShop priced at ¥400.
● And PLAYISM published a demo for the horror adventure game Detention on the Switch eShop today.
● The upcoming FuRyu JRPG WORK×WORK is one of several games newly available to preload in Japan priced at ¥5,378.

● Android 17 will be added to Dragon Ball FighterZ as a playable character in future DLC priced at ¥540, plus the Space Arena stage for free in a separate update.
● Clever Endeavour Games will now publish Ultimate Chicken Horse on the Switch eShop on 25 September priced at ¥1,480. The game was previously announced for release today.
● And an alternative costume for Yoshi (pictured here) was found in Dairantou Smash Bros. SPECIAL (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate) by Source Gaming.

● Two new Pokémon themes released on the Japanese 3DS Theme Shop today with Pokémon: Riding Lapras and Pokémon: Boss Pikachu priced at ¥200 each. Teaser image here.

● Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw the Splatoon 2 Fishing Tourney begin with catchable green squid, pink squid and purple octopus, and rewards including a gold squid trophy, takoroka wind crusher and super sea snail. Some images added here.
● Fire Emblem Heroes saw Special Heroes: Performing Arts begin featuring Azura: Lady of Ballads, Shigure: Dark Sky Singer, Olivia: Festival Dancer and Inigo: Indigo Dancer.
● The Nintendo Mimamori Switch (Nintendo Switch Parental Controls) app updated to Ver.1.7.0 where News articles related to restricted software will no longer be readable on the Switch console, and you no longer need to enter your Parental Controls PIN when new internet settings are saved on your Switch.
● Pokémon GO will see the Psychic-type Mythical Pokémon Deoxys available to challenge in its Normal Forme beginning with the next cycle of EX Raid invitations.
