Wednesday Update With Mentori, Langrisser And Excitebike Games All Announced For Switch!

● Imaginative Technology Land announced an eShop-only puzzle game starring the popular LINE sticker character Mendou daga Toriaezu (Mentori) with Mentori Puzzle. The game releases on 06 September priced at ¥1,200. Promo video added here.

● Kadokawa Games will publish a Langrisser I & II remake for Nintendo Switch with all new graphics. The game is currently 50% complete. Check out the first screenshot here.

● In Hamster news: Arcade Archives VS. Excitebike was announced for the Fall (the Weekly Famitsu article states Excitebike), ACA NEOGEO Crossed Swords released today and ACA NEOGEO Football Frenzy was announced for next week.

● Square Enix will reveal the Dragon Quest Builders 2: Hakaishin Shidoo to Karappo no Shima release date in a broadcast on 29 August at 20:00 JST in the video added here.

● UNTIES announced both the 2D horror exploration game 3rd Eye was announced for Switch along with the metroidvania . Trailers here and here.

● Silver Star Japan announced the card game Daifugo: Honkaku AI Tousai for the eShop next week (30 August) priced at ¥380. Promo video added here.

● CIRCLE Ent. will publish the puzzle platform game Toki Tori 2+ in Japan next week (30 August) priced at ¥800. Launch trailer added here.

● Higgs Games published the hen shooter Moorhuhn Remake in Japan today priced at ¥900 although it’s available for an early-purchase price of ¥720! Trailer added here.

● Topstitch Games published the platform fighter Treadnauts in Japan priced at ¥1,150. Launch trailer added here.

● JetDogs will publish the puzzle game Kenshō in Japan on 06 September priced at ¥1,999. Promo video added here.

● Cosen announced the action puzzle game Six Sides of the World Enhanced for the eShop next week (30 August) priced at ¥1,000. Trailer added here.

● Intragames announced the comedy action RPG Super Cane Magic ZERO for the eShop, with the game playable at the Tokyo Game Show next month. Trailer added here.

● Two demos released today in Japan with GEKIDO from Rainy Frog and Toy Stunt Bike: Tiptop’s Trials from Wobbly Tooth.

● And new games available to preload in Japan include SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy (priced at ¥5,184), Hakuoki Shinkai: Fuukaden for Nintendo Switch (priced at ¥7,344), Code : Realize ~Saikou no Hanataba~ for Nintendo Switch (priced at ¥7,344), UNDERTALE (priced at ¥1,620), Nil·Admirari no Tenbin: Irodori Nadeshiko (priced at ¥7,344), and NORN9 LOFN for Nintendo Switch (also priced at ¥7,344),

● Dodonpa was announced for Team Sonic Racing at Gamescom along with Market Street stage, with 21 total tracks (source).

● This week’s new Japanese 3DS themes saw Marumofubiyori (called ‘I love you more than Marumofubiyori’) and Candy Moko themes from FuRyu priced at ¥200 apiece. Pictures for both added here.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw reissued Gothic Rose items from Stamp Trade at the Fortune Cookie Shop. Check out the full list here. Bunnie’s Li’l Red Cookie should be available tomorrow.

Fire Emblem Heroes will see Forging Bonds: Rejecting Destiny available from 24 August with two Orbs now earned the first time a map is cleared each day for seven days.

Nintendo Switch was the best-selling hardware in the U.S. for July in NPD data with OCTOPATH TRAVELER the best-selling hardware.

● Sega will publish Football Manager Touch 2019 on the Switch eShop towards the end of November

Takashi Mochizuki. has a lot of coverage in both Japanese and English from CEDEC 2018 including that of Shigeru Miyamoto who says that Nintendo have attempted builder games in the past, but couldn’t make them fun to play. Another interesting fact from CEDEC, is that the resources of the Nintendo Switch HOME Menu use under 200kb.

● Speaking of the Nintendo Switch HOME Menu; Nintendo Co., Ltd. are recruiting for a development director/planner and a development engineer for the HOME Menu.

Minecraft was the best-selling game in Japan last week with 25,948 copies sold with the top 13 games were all on Nintendo platforms! Nintendo Switch was the best-selling hardware with 54,647. Check out the full Nintendo charts here.

● Reviews scores from this week’s issue of Weekly Famitsu include Little Dragons Café with 31/40, Psyvariar Delta with 31/40, World End Syndrome with 32/40, Blade Strangers with 29/40, Umi no Kakera with 28/40, Hyakki Castle: Kougi Onmitsu Roku with 27/40, Guns, Gore & Cannoli 2 with 35/40 and Tennis World Tour with 27/40.

● And Sega Games Corporation have applied for a Judge Eyes videogame trademark in Japan in both Japanese and English.
