● Happinet announced the pictured horror RPG Hyakki Castle: Kougi Onmitsu Roku will be coming to the eShop in Japan on 30 August priced at ¥1,500. Check out a trailer here.

● Koei Tecmo Games announced Nobunaga no Yabou: Taishi with Power-Up Kit for Nintendo Switch, adding Siege Battles and more to the original game. No release date has been announced.

● Square-Enix said that OCTOPATH TRAVELER has exceeded sales expectations, with a higher than average ratio of digital sales, that we can expect games ‘similar’ to Octopath Traveler in the future, and that the Switch is a ‘good platform’ for such games.

Bandai Namco Entertainment said that developing Switch games takes a different approach than both PS4 and XB1, but Switch is great at “igniting play” anywhere, anytime and with anyone, and that they are committed to bringing more games to Switch in the future.

● Epic Games updated Fortnite to Version 5.20 adding the new Steady Storm Limited Time Mode where one constantly moving storm is closing in on the island. Also added is Double Barrel Shotgun, and much more!

● And Koei Tecmo Games announced a fourth and fifth new character, Ares and Odin, for Musou OROCHI 3 (Warriors Orochi 4).

Fire Emblem Heroes saw a Summoning Focus: Heroes With Fighter Skills with Hardin: Dark Emperor, Effie: Army of One and Robin: Fell Reincarnation, and Daily Summoning Focus #6: Heroes with Life and Death as part of Feh’s Summer Celebration. New Heroes were teased for Friday also.

● Nintendo announced that The World Ends with You: Final Remix will release in both North America and Europe on 12 October. Check out the overview trailer here.

● NIS America announced that The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince (Usotsuki Hime to Moumoku Ouji) will release in the West in 2019. Check out the announcement trailer here.

● Sega have published a demo for Valkyria Chronicles 4 on the European Nintendo Switch eShop (and I assume the North American one) although no sign in Japan.

● The top 5 selling games for July in Japan were all Nintendo Switch titles with:-

1. OCTOPATH TRAVELER – 142,033

2. Mario Tennis Ace – 141,867

3. Splatoon 2 – 123,344

4. Minecraft – 103,131

5. Taiko no Tatsujin Nintendo Switch Version! – 96,637

● The best-selling hardware was Nintendo Switch too with 244,733.
