● Team Squid defeated Team Octopus 2 -1 in the 12th Splatoon 2 Splatfest. Check out the percentages and results announcement video here.

● Play,Doujin! announced the rhythm fighting game Phrasefight for Nintendo Switch from developers veryOK, although no release date as of yet. Check out the trailers here.

● Play,Doujin! also announced the circle action game Umi no Kakera (Fragment of Marine) will release later this week (26 July) priced at ¥500. Check out the promo video here.

● Bandai Namco Entertainment are holding a One Piece Day sale with One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition reduced by 26% (from ¥5,184 to ¥3,800) and One Piece Kaizoku Musou 3 Deluxe Edition reduced by 23% (from ¥6,264 to ¥4,800) until 09 August.

● Koei Tecmo Games announced a free update to Shingeki no Kyojin 2 (A.O.T.2) on 09 August with Kenny’s hat. new ‘Heaven’ difficulty setting and more.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw Reissued Winter Sports items now available from Stamp Trade at the Fortune Cookie Shop.

Fire Emblem Heroes saw Leo: Sorcerous Prince and Elise: Budding Flower from Fire Emblem Fates for Bound Hero Battle: Leo & Elise, with the two joined by Camilla: Bewitching Beauty for Summoning Focus: Bound Hero Battle over the weekend. Today saw New Event: Forging Bonds and 20 free Orbs.

Nintendo of America filed a lawsuit against the owners of two rom sites (LoveROMs and LoveRETRO) for “mass-scale infringement of Nintendo’s intellectual property rights” with damages estimated at $100 million. Read the full details here.

● All three Japanese stores that provide early data (COMG!, Tsutaya and GEO) all have Taiko no Tatsujin: Nintendo Switch Version! as this week’s number one with Nintendo Switch software mostly dominating the charts.
