● The second huge update to Kirby Star Allies will arrive on 27 July 2018 and adds Daroach, Dark Meta Knight and the newly confirmed Adeleine & Ribbon to the game!
● Nintendo detailed the Tentacles (Off the Hook) amiibo functionality in Splatoon 2 including gear photos on stage during Splatfests and new modes to Squid Beatz 2. Full details with screenshots here.
● Spike Chunsoft announced the detective adventure game AI: The Somnium Files for Nintendo Switch, which is the latest project from Kotaro Uchikoshi (Zero Escape). Announcement trailer added here.
● The Pokémon Company announced that Pokémon Quest has exceeded 7.5 million downloads worldwide on Nintendo Switch and smartphone. New TV commercial here.
● The Japanese 3DS Theme Shop will be updated next week with two new Natsushiro Takaaki themes plus Mikito-P feat. Kagamine Rin.
● Capcom announced Monster Hunter Frontier ZZ is scheduled for release this Fall, with more information coming on 24 August. The entry is expected to skip Wii U for the first time since 2013.
● Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw the Bloomin’ Booty with Kapp’n gardening event, plus new bugs, fish, and shells, and new campsite terrain all detailed here.
● Fire Emblem Heroes saw the Summoning Focus: Heroes with Luna begin featuring Mia: Lady of Blades, Celica: Imprisoned Soul and Hinoka: Blue Sky Warrior
● Pokémon GO is about to celebrate its second anniversary with Pikachu and Pichu spawning more frequently, including a “Summer Style” Pikachu with straw hat and sunglasses and Pikachu Fan Avatar items.
