● Shuntaro Furukawa became the sixth President of Nintendo Co., Ltd. replacing Tatsumi Kimishima. Read Furukawa’s first message here. Satoru Shibata replaced Kimishima as Director.

● Bandai Namco Entertainment announced a new Kuma Tomo (Teddy Together) series game with Neko Tomo due for release on both Nintendo Switch and 3DS later this year.
● Mario Kart 8 Deluxe updated to Version 1.5.0 adding Nintendo Labo support where you can now play with the Toy-Con Motorbike. More games will receive Labo support in the future.
● Mario Tennis Ace(s) debuted at number one in Japan with 123,774 units sold (Media Create data), making it the best start for a Mario Tennis game since the GameCube era.
● Square-Enix announced that Subarashiki Kono Sekai -Final Remix- (The World Ends With You: Final Remix) will release in Japan on 27 September priced at ¥5,184.

● Furukawa said “we are considering various possibilities” in regards to a potential Nintendo 3DS successor.
● Neko Tomo was also announced for 3DS (see above!).

● Level-5 and GungHo Online Entertainment announced the AR game Yokai Watch World for iOS and Android,and which uses the Google Maps platform and is available now in Japan.
● Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp saw the arrival of Tucker and Vic, and the third Fishing Tourney. A major new update is scheduled soon.
● Fire Emblem Heroes saw a new Legendary Hero Summoning Event featuring Hector: Marquess Of Ostia and other 5★ Heroes plus will see a major update on 09 July.
● Super Mario Run saw a weekend spotlight on Luigi where the items you can get from Remix 10′s Super Bonus Game will all be related to him.
● Pokémon GO saw a new Friends feature start allowing Trainers to send items, earn bonuses—and trade Pokémon with friends. Alolan Rattata and Alolan Raticate are now available.

● Yokai Watch Busters will release in both North America and Europe on 07 September as Yokai Watch Blasters, with two versions (Red Cat Corps and White Dog Squad).

● So many new trademarks this week including Make Play Discover, 風花雪月 (Fire Emblem: Fuuka Setsugetsu), 黄金の国イーラ (Xenoblade 2: Kogane no Kuni Ira), Sky Skipper, Fitness Boxing, NES, Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy, GameCube (x 3), Nintendo 3DS (x 2), ポケるんTV (Poké-Lun TV), ポケるん (Poké-Lun), Super Smash Bros. and Splatoon.
