Tuesday News Update with Switch selling 10 million, Picross e8 announced for 3DS, plus much more news!

● Nintendo Switch has sold 10 million units between 03 March and 10 December 2017. Nintendo plan to ship more Switch consoles in Japanese stores in December than any prior month.
● SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition was announced today by Image & Form Games and releases in the West on 28 December and Japan in early 2018 and will include all previously released DLC and optional touch controls.
● Capcom confirmed Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection International (with added last word!) will release in Japan in Spring 2018. Website here and here.

● Jupiter announced Picross e8 will release on 3DS next week (20 December) priced at ¥500. Trailer here. Jupiter also announced the Picross e has sold over 500,000 units worldwide across all the 3DS games.
● The latest global mission in Pokémon Ultra Sun Moon has now started called “Have Fun Mantine Surfing!” where the goal is for all Trainers to collectively earn 1,000,000 Beach Points (BP) in Mantine Surf events by 25 December with 2,000 Festival Coins as a reward if successful.

● This is via Takashi Mochizuki, via Reddit and via GoNintendo with Nintendo reportedly looking to collaborate with further software developers in addition to DeNA in order to increase its mobile output and the belief is that Nintendo may partner with Tencent in order to crack China.
● The new Yokai Watch game teased in this week’s issue of Weekly Famitsu is a version of the Nintendo 3DS strategy game Yokai Sangokushi adapted for iOS and Android as Yokai Sangokushi: Kunitori Wars and due as a free download this Winter.
● Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp players will now receive 50 free Leaf Tickets tomorrow thanks to the huge success of the recent retweet contest.
● Fire Emblem Heroes saw Special Maps and limited-time special quests added as a thank you from the development team to everyone for playing,.

● Reggie Fils-Aimé spoke with Variety and said that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey have all been purchased by over 50% of Switch owners thus all at over five million. Splatoon 2 is at 2.5 million.
● 505 Games announced that Payday 2 is coming to Switch on 23 February in Europe and 27 February in North America. Japan is still ‘Winter’.

● The Detective Pikachu movie is set to open on 10 May 2019 with Toho handling distribution within Japan and Universal Pictures outside of Japan.
